DICE has just released a quick update for Battlefield 6 to temporarily tweak how experience points (XP) are earned in the new Strikepoint game mode. While they haven’t detailed the specific changes, it’s believed this is to address an exploit players recently found. This exploit allowed squads to earn up to 2.5 million XP under certain conditions.
Strikepoint is a new game mode added to Battlefield 6 with the Season 1 update on October 28th. It’s different from modes like Breakthrough and Conquest, offering more focused, smaller-scale fights. In Strikepoint, each player has only one life per round, and a round is won by either eliminating the opposing team or capturing the designated objective. The first team to win six rounds wins the match.
DICE Makes XP Adjustments to Battlefield 6’s Newest Mode
Man, ever since Battlefield 6 came out, it feels like all anyone talks about is XP! A lot of us think it takes way too long to level up, and people quickly found ways to ‘farm’ XP. DICE tried to fix that in the Portal mode, but right after Season 1 dropped, we discovered another way to get tons of XP in the new Strikepoint mode. Now, DICE says they’ve temporarily tweaked the XP rates in Strikepoint while they work on a real fix. They didn’t actually mention the exploit itself, but they did admit something was off with how much XP you could earn in that mode.
This new issue gaining XP in Battlefield 6 was more complex than previous exploits. A player on the EA Forum reported that if one team left a Strikepoint match at halftime with a score of 0-5, the remaining team would receive a huge amount of XP – some players claimed as much as 2.5 million by repeating the process. Luckily, DICE addressed this with an update on November 1, and while the problem is currently fixed, they are still working on a lasting solution.
As a Battlefield fan, I was really excited to see the launch of Casual Breakthrough with Battlefield 6 on November 1st! It’s a cool addition because it lets you play with a lot more bots, which is perfect if you just want a more relaxed experience without super intense battles. Basically, there are 16 real players total (8 on each team) alongside 32 bots (16 per team). You still earn progress towards your Career, Weapons, and Battle Pass, and can complete Challenges, but you get less XP for taking out bots – you’ll still get full XP for eliminating other players, though!
