Battlefield 6 Players Are Split on the New Skins

Man, the new skins in Battlefield 6 are really dividing people. Some of us think they look awesome, but a lot of players are seriously complaining about how expensive they are. It’s pretty standard for games like Fortnite and Call of Duty to keep adding new stuff you can buy – battle passes, cosmetics, all that – but Battlefield 6 seems to be getting a lot more flak for it than usual. It’s been a bit of a controversial topic, honestly.

Many fans have felt that the Call of Duty series has strayed too far from its realistic military origins, leaning instead towards crossovers with various popular franchises. Electronic Arts (EA) addressed these concerns early on with Battlefield 6, promising to avoid outlandish character skins or illogical crossovers – assuring fans they wouldn’t see unexpected guests like Beavis and Butthead or Nicki Minaj. However, even with a focus on more realistic soldier designs, the game’s development hasn’t been entirely smooth.

The 323 Battlefield 6 Bundle Leaves Players Divided

To keep Battlefield 6 updated and supported after its release, EA is regularly adding new items to the in-game store where players can buy cosmetic upgrades and other content. Recently, they introduced ‘The 323’ bundle – a collection of skins representing a made-up NATO-aligned group of veteran soldiers. These skins are a good fit with the game’s first season, ‘California Resistance,’ which also included two new maps set in California.

Players generally like the new skins, appreciating their realistic style and how they offer a welcome change from the game’s existing, very uniform soldier designs. Some enjoyed the lighthearted, ‘dad joke’ feel of the skins, while others felt they were a bit too relaxed – specifically mentioning the jeans and lack of helmets – for a combat setting.

The main point of contention with this new bundle is its price. While players generally like how the skins look, the $20 cost (2,400 Battlefield Coins) is a concern for many. Some speculate that the less desirable skins were intentionally placed in the Season 1 Battle Pass to make the store bundle seem more attractive and encourage purchases. However, many players aren’t surprised by this, as it’s a common tactic in other online shooting games and is often anticipated.

EA is working to find the right balance between cool character customizations and keeping the game realistic, but they’ve already had to make some changes based on player feedback. For example, a skin called “Wicked Grin” was pulled from Battlefield 6 after players said it didn’t match the game’s overall serious tone. While the skin included tactical equipment, fans disliked the bright blue highlights and the grinning design on the Assault class’s neck covering. It seems EA is redesigning the skin and may release a revised version in the future.
