Players of Battlefield 6 are criticizing a new in-game bonus path, saying it pushes them to spend real money to unlock all the content. Although the game was highly anticipated and started strong in 2025, it’s had trouble keeping players engaged. The new content isn’t helping, as fans are still unhappy with the way it’s designed.
The first-person shooter market has been challenging recently. A new report indicates that Battlefield 6 is falling behind Call of Duty, which continues to keep players engaged. Battlefield’s position in the rankings has declined. The game also faced criticism for using AI-generated art and experienced technical issues with its Winter Offensive update. Players continue to voice concerns about how the game is being updated and supported as a live service.
Battlefield 6’s New BF Pro Bonus Path Only Gives Players 7 Days to Complete It
A Reddit user named Venirto noticed that the new bonus path in Battlefield Pro is very short – only seven days – but requires completing ten tiers. They believe most players won’t have enough time to earn all the rewards through gameplay alone. This means players might have to spend in-game currency, or even real money, to unlock everything. To add to the frustration, the final reward is a skin that some Battlefield 6 players say looks too similar to the Call of Duty logo, which feels disappointing after such a quick and potentially costly challenge.
Image via DICE BF Pro has faced criticism before, and the latest complaints center around its premium upgrade, which costs $24.99 in addition to the $70 base game. Players are frustrated that seemingly minor features are locked behind this paywall. For example, the BF Pro Radio Station, which is essentially a playlist of songs, and the ability to host 100-player servers are only available to those who pay extra, leading many to argue these features should be accessible to all players of Battlefield 6.
People commenting on Venirto’s post pointed out that the recent problem with Battlefield Pro highlights a bigger issue with the game: its excessive grind. Many players find it too demanding, with one describing it as “unbearable” and another saying they can’t keep playing as a busy parent. Fans have been complaining about Battlefield 6‘s slow progression almost since launch. While EA has made some changes to the challenges, this latest situation proves players still feel they have to work too hard and fast to earn rewards.
Image via EA As Season 1 nears its end in the coming weeks, it’s unclear how the game will regain player trust with future battle passes. Many players have expressed disappointment with the current season and said they won’t purchase another one. This poses a challenge for the game, especially since it received some of the lowest Steam ratings in the series last November, surpassed only by the poorly received Battlefield 2042. With Season 2 on the horizon, EA has an opportunity to address these issues, but it’s still unknown if or how they’ll do so.
