Ahead of the release of Battlefield 6, EA announced that PlayStation 5 players can earn up to 15% more experience points in each match if they play with two or more friends who are also PlayStation Plus members. Currently, there’s no comparable bonus for players on Xbox Series X/S or PC, giving PlayStation 5 users a significant edge in leveling up their multiplayer characters.
The highly anticipated *Battlefield 6* launches in less than 24 hours, and fans are excited to return to the series after a hugely successful beta test earlier this year. Following the difficult launch of *Battlefield 2042* in 2021, players were keen to see what EA and DICE had created. It seems the studios have regained player trust, as the *Battlefield 6* beta was a record-breaker for the franchise, even surpassing *Call of Duty*’s player numbers on Steam. The beta attracted over half a million players on the platform shortly after it began.
Battlefield Players Can Get Extra XP on PS5
Now that reviews for *Battlefield 6* are out, more information about the game is being revealed. One detail recently shared by CharlieIntel is that PlayStation 5 players will level up faster. Just owning *Battlefield 6* on PS5 gives you a 5% XP boost each game. Playing with friends adds another 5%, and if you and at least two other players are PlayStation Plus subscribers, you’ll get a third 5% boost – for a total of 15% extra XP per match.
The new benefit has upset many gamers, with reactions being largely negative. Some players are calling it “pay to win,” and others expressed frustration with console-exclusive perks. This isn’t entirely unexpected, though, as the *Battlefield 6* open beta offered similar advantages to PlayStation Plus subscribers. During the beta, those subscribers earned double experience points and received a unique skin that will also be available when the full game launches.

While not a direct experience boost, players can earn extra rewards in *Battlefield 6* by watching streams on Twitch. For the first week after launch, if you connect your EA and Twitch accounts, you can get free in-game items simply by watching. Watch for one hour to unlock a Dog Tag, two hours for a Weapon Package, and three hours for a Vehicle Skin. A special Soldier Skin is also available, but you’ll need to subscribe to a Twitch channel or gift a subscription to get it.
