The new Battlefield RedSec battle royale has received “Mostly Negative” reviews on Steam, with many players expressing their dissatisfaction. The Battlefield Studios team has been flooded with feedback, but the issues seem to be widespread rather than stemming from a single problem.
When early rumors suggested that Battlefield 6 would include a battle royale mode, excitement quickly built. Battlefield games are naturally well-suited for large-scale combat, making a battle royale a logical fit. With Call of Duty‘s Warzone starting to lose some of its appeal, it seemed like Battlefield RedSec could arrive at just the right moment to gain a significant advantage.

The addition of weekly challenges from Battlefield 6 into RedSec has also frustrated players who prefer to focus on just one game. Many feel Battlefield RedSec is too similar to Call of Duty, which was something the community hoped to avoid with this new battle royale title.
It wasn’t the best start for Battlefield RedSec, with many players initially reacting negatively. However, it’s still very early in the game’s life, and RedSec will likely improve over time with updates and changes based on what players think.
