Following the incredibly popular launch of Battlefield 2042, EA is focusing on keeping the game fresh with regular updates. Season 1 is scheduled to arrive on October 28th, bringing new maps – including Blackwell Fields and Eastwood – plus a variety of new weapons, vehicles, and ways to play. While details are still limited, fans recently learned a bit more about the highly anticipated Battle Royale mode in a recent update from the Battlefield team.

Battlefield 6 Reveals Fan Requested Battle Royale Updates

A recent post from the Battlefield team highlighted how players in the Battlefield Labs program have influenced the development of the Battle Royale mode. While information about the next Battlefield game’s Battle Royale is still limited, the post shared some new details. Players will begin with one armor plate, but can carry up to two before finding more. The time it takes to defeat an enemy at close range has been slightly increased, giving players a better chance to react. Vehicles and helicopters will still be strong assets, but won’t be essential for winning, especially in the final moments of a match.

The post also shares more details about upcoming changes in the first season of Battlefield 6, including a redesigned challenge system. Players have said some challenges are too difficult or time-consuming, so the developers are making improvements with several updates. They’re simplifying some requirements – for example, the number of kills needed with adrenaline injectors is dropping from 30 to just 3, and the Deadeye 2 challenge now requires only 5 headshots at 200 meters instead of 150.

Although EA hasn’t officially announced details about the Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6, fans have been following leaks and rumors. Recent reports suggest the mode might unexpectedly launch with the Season 1 update on October 28th. Data discovered within the EA App, labeled ‘Granite’ and separate from the regular Season 1 content, has fueled speculation that this is the Battle Royale mode. While this hasn’t been confirmed, many believe it’s likely, but players should remain cautious until EA makes an official announcement.
