Battlefield 6 Season 1 will be released in three parts, one each month starting October 28th, with the last update arriving on December 9th. All of this new content will be available for free to anyone who owns Battlefield 6, except for the Season 1 Battle Pass. Here’s a detailed look at everything coming in Battlefield 6 Season 1:

Rogue Ops (Oct 28)

Season 1 of Rogue Ops launches on October 28th with a significant content update. This update introduces the Blackwell Fields map, a newly reopened American air base located in the California countryside. The map is designed for battles of all sizes and features both land and air vehicles in supported game modes.

Rogue Ops includes a new game type called Strikepoint, where two teams of four players battle to capture a single point over several rounds. Because players have only one life per round, a team wins either by eliminating all opponents or by successfully capturing the objective. Strikepoint matches are played on small, close-quarters maps, much like the maps in the Close Quarters Battle playlist.

A new vehicle, the APC Traverser Mark 2, has been added to the game. This land vehicle can carry a roof gunner and two additional gunners in the back, and is built to defend against enemy soldiers. Beyond the new vehicle, Rogue Ops also introduces several new weapons and customization options, including:

  • SOR-300C: A carbine with a low rate of fire and above-average damage. Uses .300 Blackout ammunition by default.
  • Mini Fix: A lightweight bolt-action sniper rifle similar to the Scout Elite.
  • GGH-22: A sidearm equipped in the secondary slot. It features high ammo capacity, a high fire rate, and low damage.
  • Rail Cover & Low-Powered Variable Optic: Two new attachments that are available for Rifles and LMGs.

California Resistance (Nov 18)

Okay, so California Resistance is dropping on November 18th, and I’m super hyped! It’s bringing a brand new map called Eastwood, which looks awesome – think golf courses and suburban streets. We’ll even be able to drive around in golf carts, which is just…yes! It supports everything, from small skirmishes to huge battles with land vehicles and helicopters when the game mode calls for it. But that’s not all – they’re also launching a new mode called Sabotage. Basically, it’s 8v8, and we’ll be fighting over different locations, trying to either defend them or blow them up before time runs out. Whoever detonates the most sites wins, so it sounds like a fast-paced, chaotic good time!

Battle Pickups will be available again starting November 18th. These are strong weapons players can discover while exploring. As for what weapons are currently available, the California Resistance offers these options:

  • DB-12: A dual-barreled pump-action shotgun that can fire two shots with two pulls of the trigger before needing to be rechambered.
  • M327 Trait: A sidearm equipable in the secondary slot. It’s an eight-chamber revolver with high damage and a low fire rate, designed primarily for CQB combat.
  • Slim Handstop: An alternative to underbarrel attachments that improve ergonomics and handling.

Winter Defensive (Dec 9)

The last update for Season 1, called Winter Defensive, arrives on December 9th and adds a frozen version of the Empire State map to Battlefield 6. This special, snowy version of Empire State will only be available for a limited time, returning to the original map when Season 1 finishes. Winter Defensive also includes the Ice Lock Event, a new gameplay feature that will appear in certain game modes, likely those played on the Ice Lock Empire State map.

Currently, the only new item confirmed for the Winter Defensive update is the Ice Climbing Axe. This new melee weapon will be added alongside the already available knives and sledgehammer.

All weapons added in Battlefield 6 Season 1 will be available for free through the Season 1 Battle Pass. The Battle Pass will launch with four different progression paths, releasing with each new content update. A fifth path will become available after you’ve completed the first four.

Will Battlefield 6 Season 1 Feature a Battle Royale Mode?

There are rumors that the Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6 will launch on October 28th with the start of Season 1, but DICE and EA haven’t officially confirmed this date or if it will be included in the Season 1 update. The Battle Royale mode will be free to play, and more information about its release is expected shortly.
