More information about the upcoming Season 2 for Battlefield 6 has been revealed, giving players a preview of new maps and other features. Although the first season lasted longer than expected, excitement is building for what’s next, especially as players ask for fresh content. Despite EA keeping details quiet, a sneak peek at Season 2 content has already surfaced before its official release.
The new Battlefield game generated a lot of excitement before it launched, but its popularity has dropped significantly since then. By mid-January, the number of players on Steam had fallen by 89% from its highest point, as players became disappointed with the first season and new games like ARC Raiders gained popularity. Although the developers have fixed many initial performance and progression issues, player numbers continue to decline, so it remains to be seen if the next season can revive the game.
Battlefield 6 Leak Reveals New Maps, Weapons, and Vehicles for Season 2
A recent leak, shared by a Reddit user, reveals details about Season 2 content for Battlefield 6. Originally planned for January 20th, the season was pushed back to February 17th so the developers could make improvements based on player feedback. While the specific changes aren’t known, fans now have a preview of the season’s main features, especially the new maps. A leaked cinematic highlights Hagental Airbase, the first new area, which appears to be focused on vehicle combat around an airfield, hangars, and a nearby forest.
Image via EA While the recent trailer didn’t reveal the second new map, official Battlefield sources have confirmed it’s called Contaminated and will be added in Season 2. Since Season 1 included two full maps and one variation, Contaminated and Hagental Airbase are probably the only completely new maps planned, though there might be some smaller map adjustments too. Based on the trailer, it’s hard to say exactly how large Hagental Airbase is, but it appears to be a fairly big map, especially considering how many tanks, helicopters, and other vehicles are featured.
Recent information suggests that the game’s second season will add a small helicopter and motorcycles, in addition to new locations. Players who participated in early testing may recognize the helicopter – the AH-6 Little Bird – and it looks like it will be available in the full game at the Hagental map. Details about the motorcycle are still limited, but it’s expected to be similar to the existing ATV, possibly with increased speed. Season 2 is also rumored to include three new weapons: the MSBS Grot, VHS-2, and MG5.

Season 2 will probably release content in stages, similar to Season 1, meaning there’s more on the way than has been revealed. Looking ahead, Battlefield 6 could receive four major updates throughout 2026, depending on development timelines. These changes could be key to revitalizing the game and regaining players.
