- EA CEO hints at a pivotal change for the franchise, signaling significant pre-launch hype for the forthcoming game.
- Submarines offer tactical advantages, such as launching missiles, and could enhance gameplay with potential enemy submarine encounters.
The Battlefield series may have waned in its former brilliance due to earlier versions, yet fans remain eager for what Electronic Arts has planned for the upcoming installments. Many first-person shooter enthusiasts are keeping a close eye on Battlefield 6, and there’s one intriguing potential new feature that could heighten the excitement even further. Unlike its predecessors, the next game in the series is rumored to gain significantly from the introduction of a novel vehicle type that isn’t limited to either land or air travel.
In the upcoming “Battlefield” game, they could introduce submarines to enhance combat, particularly on maps with water. The “Battlefield” series has been known for its exceptional handling of large-scale gunplay, thanks to expansive maps that accommodate warfare across various levels, including tanks, artillery vehicles, fighter jets, and so forth. Given this foundation, incorporating submarines into “Battlefield 6” seems feasible, considering the existing scope of the large maps in previous titles.
Submarines Seeping Their Way Into Battlefield 6 Isn’t Asking a Lot
It’s not entirely unreasonable to expect submarines in Battlefield 6 given that EA CEO Andrew Wilson has hinted at it being a significant step forward in their next-generation entertainment lineup. During an earnings report at the start of May, he made this statement. Since we haven’t had a new Battlefield game for four years now, anticipation for the upcoming title is high, and EA might be planning a strong comeback after the underwhelming launch of Battlefield 2042.
Indeed, it implies that Battlefield 6 might surpass the current output of the developer and introduce submarines, which is not an unlikely scenario given the absence of naval warfare in Battlefield 2042, except for small transport boats. This could potentially represent a significant shift for the next game in the series. As of now, the leaked alpha gameplay of Battlefield 6 hasn’t shown any hints of submarine integration.
As a gamer, I find submarines in-game to be quite thrilling since they provide an edge on the battlefield, enabling me to scan enemy bases and even launch missiles from underwater to annihilate vast groups of opponents simultaneously. However, it’s not just a walk in the park; I must also watch out for enemy submarines, adding an extra layer of challenge that makes this venture all the more promising with upcoming updates and new features. Add to that the destruction mechanic of Battlefield, and there’s definitely plenty to look forward to!
EA Will Reveal The Future Of Battlefield This Summer
EA is planning to reveal “Battlefield 6” towards the end of this year during summer, with the official release slated for 2026. This provides ample time for the game to be fine-tuned and improved, especially given the introduction of Battlefield Labs – the largest playtest platform in the franchise’s history. Already, invitations have been extended to select players for an early taste, allowing EA to gather valuable feedback and refine the game to near perfection prior to its launch, all things considered.
While certain aspects of the forthcoming Battlefield have been disclosed, it’s clear that further updates are in store. Fingers crossed that underwater vessels like submarines might be among the exciting new features EA plans to unveil for the series.
