Ugh, glint in Battlefield 6 is the worst! Seriously, as a sniper, the moment I aim down sights, it feels like a giant spotlight shines on my head, giving away my position to everyone. Luckily, I’ve figured out a few tricks to make my scope glint less obvious, so I can actually get a shot off without instantly becoming a target.
As a Battlefield 6 player, I’ve noticed something about snipers – every single rifle has that telltale glint, even if they’re not using a high-powered scope. They’ve toned it down a bit since the beta, which is good, but it’s still really noticeable in the full game. And honestly, if you pay attention to it, that glint can actually give you a warning that someone’s lining up a shot on you – it’s a little detail that can really help!
How Does Sniper Glint Work in Battlefield 6?
All sniper rifles in Battlefield 6 show a visible scope glint when aiming, no matter what scope you use. While higher-powered scopes (6x and above) have a more noticeable glint, even lower magnification scopes like a 3x will still produce a visible shine that other players can see.
How visible your scope’s glint is depends on the scope you’re using. You won’t see a glint up close, but it will start to appear when you’re 15 to 20 meters away from your target. More powerful scopes create a brighter glint, which is something to consider when sniping from a distance.

To minimize the bright flash (glint) from your sniper rifle’s scope, use the AG Coating attachment in the Optic Accessory slot. This Anti-Glare Coating reduces the intensity and visibility of the glint, and makes the reflective lines from your scope much thinner. This makes it harder for enemies to pinpoint your location unless they are specifically looking for you. It takes time to unlock – you’ll get it at Mastery 36 with the M2010 ESR – but it’s a crucial attachment once you do.
Even if you’re not a sniper yourself, you can still get a warning when an enemy player is using a sniper rifle. All sniper rifles in Battlefield 6 can kill with one shot to the upper chest, and each has an effective range. For instance, the PSR works best from 75 to 150 meters. When a sniper is aiming at you within that effective range, their scope glint will show a rainbow effect instead of being plain white. If you see a colored glint, it’s time to take cover!
The glint effect isn’t limited to sniper rifles. Certain long-range tools, like the Recon’s Laser Designator, also produce it, so be aware of that when marking targets from afar. However, all other weapons in *Battlefield 6* don’t have this glint, meaning you won’t be revealed by your scope’s reflection when using long-range sights on weapons like assault rifles or LMGs.
