  • Battlefield Studios collaborates with Battlefield 6, returning to a single-player campaign.
  • Video showcases Dice, Criterion for multiplayer/single-player, Motive, Ripple Effect for other aspects.
  • EA introduces Battlefield Labs for community engagement, seeking player feedback for the upcoming game.

As a gamer, I’m super pumped about the latest development at EA! The newly formed Battlefield Studios is bringing together DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect for an all-new Battlefield 6 experience that’s set to redefine gameplay. This collaboration looks like it’s going to significantly change how EA approaches the franchise, and one of the most exciting changes confirmed so far is the return of the single-player campaign. I can hardly wait!

Initially, developers unveiled this information on platform X, accompanied by a concept art depiction of an American M1A2 Abrams tank camouflaged in desert colors, traversing under a collapsed bridge amidst ruins of a city. This visual supports earlier speculations that the game will be set in a modern-day environment.

A fresh video on the game’s official YouTube channel provides a glimpse of the upcoming gameplay, highlighting each studio’s role in shaping Battlefield’s future. DICE is responsible for multiplayer modes, while Criterion takes care of single-player campaigns. Meanwhile, Motive and Ripple Effect contribute to various other elements.

Vince Zampella, leader of the Battlefield Studios, stated that this installment is our most daring Battlefield project, pooling top-tier expertise from all our studios to craft an exceptionally innovative experience.

Community Engagement through Battlefield Labs

In contrast to the previous version that exclusively offered multiplayer experiences, which faced significant criticism, the upcoming Battlefield installment is returning to a single-player format. Following the challenges encountered by Battlefield 2042 in terms of gameplay and sales upon its 2021 release, Electronic Arts (EA) is emphasizing their commitment to providing grand multiplayer warfare and an immersive storyline for Battlefield 6.

This newly released video offers our initial glimpse into the progress of the game being made, featuring a compilation of pre-alpha gameplay. It strongly suggests a revival of the series’ traditional elements, favoring a contemporary backdrop over the significant change seen in 2042.

In anticipation of such lofty expectations, Electronic Arts (EA) aims to stimulate community interaction and align player aspirations. To achieve this, they have launched what is touted as their most extensive community testing program ever – Battlefield Labs, within the Battlefield series.

The purpose of this software is to ensure key aspects are properly coordinated prior to the release of its title. It encompasses fresh elements, functions, maps, among other things. Yet, some traditional game modes like Conquest and Breakthrough necessitate that you agree to a confidentiality contract.

To enroll in the Battlefield Labs program, please do so through Electronic Arts’ official Testing Portal. The initial testing sessions are scheduled to start within the upcoming weeks, however, exact dates have not been confirmed as of now.
