According to industry analyst Michael Patcher’s latest video, he reports that Battlefield’s General Manager, Byron Beede, shared with him that Electronic Arts (EA) intends to make Battlefield a series released annually.
As per Patcher’s statement, he has had a conversation with Beede, who revealed that Electronic Arts (EA) aims to involve three studios in the development of the Battlefield series every three years. This way, they can ensure an annual release of new games within this franchise.
It’s not surprising that this follows a similar pattern to Call of Duty’s yearly releases, but Patcher predicts the franchise won’t start publishing games every year for another 5-6 years.
TopMob has reached out directly to Byron Beede for comment, but as of yet has not heard a response.
You can watch Patcher’s claims below:
While I find it challenging to fully accept this, it seems that Battlefield 6, developed collaboratively by four studios (DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion), is headed towards success. Yet, my conviction leans towards the idea that an annual release of Battlefield titles could potentially compromise the franchise’s quality and longevity.

It’s plausible that Battlefield might launch a fresh experience each year, although it may not necessarily be a fully-fledged new game. As for what form the next experience following Battle Royale could take is uncertain. There’s even speculation that they might eventually introduce the long-discussed dinosaur mode.
Hey there! I was wondering if you might share your thoughts about Patcher’s recent claims regarding Battlefield. Specifically, do you think the game series would benefit from transitioning to an annual release cycle? Feel free to weigh in on this discussion over at TopMob forum.
