Battlefield Studios Announce Battlefield 6 Portal ‘XP Farms’ Will Soon be Patched

Battlefield Studios is updating Battlefield 6’s Portal mode to limit activity that lets players unfairly and quickly gain experience points, which has been straining the game servers.

As a huge Battlefield fan, I saw the announcement on their official channel – basically, since Battlefield 6 came out, the Portal servers have been constantly full. Apparently, a lot of people are using them to quickly gain XP, which is causing the problem!

After looking at the data, we discovered many servers were created mainly to quickly gain experience points, boost player levels, and earn rewards by defeating automated players. We get why people do this – it allows for faster progress and a safe way to try out different strategies. However, this has caused some problems. Because so many servers are focused on this type of activity instead of regular gameplay, it’s become harder for players to find and create fun experiences to enjoy with others.

We’re updating Battlefield Portal to reduce XP farming and encourage players to enjoy the game with friends, both in custom and official experiences.

Battlefield 6 Portal Changes

We’re not sure exactly what’s changing, but it will probably affect how quickly players earn experience points in Battlefield Portal. The goal is to discourage people from exploiting the game just to gain XP.

A potential update is that in-game statistics and achievements won’t contribute to a player’s overall stats anymore. This is because some players have been boosting their stats, like their kill/death ratio, in unrealistic ways.

These changes will likely encourage players to focus on the main multiplayer modes, and will be accompanied by updates to the game’s progression system.

It’s a good idea to level up your weapons in Battlefield Portal now, before some upcoming changes are implemented.
