Last night, the open beta for Battlefield 6 attracted over half a million players simultaneously on Steam. This figure surpassed previous records set by Call of Duty, and the game peaked at 850,000 viewers on Twitch, indicating that Battlefield has made a strong comeback.
As a battle-hardened gamer, I can’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline when I hear the Battlefield team reminding us once more that this upcoming open beta is their biggest yet. The anticipation has reached stratospheric heights, and the buzz surrounding the game is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. For the first time in a long while, I find myself genuinely optimistic about the future of Battlefield. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Peak Times
In a post on social media, EA’s Battlefield Comms team wrote:
This is Battlefield’s biggest Open Beta ever.
As we get closer to the busiest period, lines are likely to form. Rest assured, we’re doing our best to manage game entries, so please bear with us until it’s your turn.
Let’s ensure that everyone, including the players who are already part of the game, enjoys a seamless and equitable Open Beta trial.
Thank you for your continued excitement for Battlefield 6’s Open Beta!
As a devoted fan, I’ve got to admit that while Battlefield 6 has encountered its share of early cheaters, it hasn’t significantly dampened my enjoyment. The Javelin anti-cheat system is working tirelessly to combat this issue, having already caught close to half a million attempts at cheating! Naturally, some may still slip through the cracks, but after numerous hours spent in the beta, I’m thrilled to report that I haven’t noticed any questionable gameplay.
Battlefield 6 is scheduled to release on October 10th, which is just around the corner from the anticipated launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The positive feedback from the beta has reignited fans’ love for the series, and there’s optimism that this year, Battlefield might outperform Call of Duty in the rankings.
