Battlestate Apologizes for Escape from Tarkov Launch Issues, Promises to ‘Continue Fighting’

Escape from Tarkov 1.0 was released on Saturday, marking a major milestone for Battlestate Games after a decade of development. The highly anticipated extraction shooter is now officially a complete game, though some players have different opinions.

I was so hyped for the full release of the game, especially when it finally hit Steam! But honestly, the launch has been rough. A lot of us were running into really frustrating problems – super long loading screens, disconnects, and trouble even getting logged in. It’s good to see that Battlestate Games, through Nikita Buyanov, has publicly apologized for all the issues. Hopefully, they can fix things quickly so we can finally enjoy the game we’ve been waiting for!

‘Actual Fans of the Game’

Nikita Buyanov, the studio head at Battlestate Games, addressed the problems players experienced with the Escape from Tarkov 1.0 launch on social media, and outlined plans for upcoming fixes.

We’re incredibly grateful for the huge response to the game! Servers are filling up quickly, so we’re adding more around the world to reduce wait times. We’re also working hard to fix bugs and will continue to improve the game over the next few months.

We know the game launched with some issues, and we apologize for that. We’re committed to improving it and delivering great experiences for our dedicated players. We’re focused on resolving the remaining performance problems, old code, and lingering bugs. While we fixed a lot before release, there’s still work to do.

People have often said Escape from Tarkov didn’t feel finished when it officially launched, but for some, it feels like the complete game built on top of the years-long beta test. While it’s definitely improved and offers a lot of new features, it still has some rough spots and isn’t quite complete – and the developers are continuing to update it even now.

Escape from Tarkov’s 1.0 update introduces a new map, playable faction, and a variety of new weapons, along with a branching storyline with different possible outcomes. Hundreds of improvements and adjustments have also been made, building on existing map content and character movement. While a significant update, the delivery isn’t flawless.
