YAPYAP doesn’t offer an official guide, so players need to figure things out as they go and meet the game’s challenges. There’s a lot to learn, including wand spells, how to cause trouble, and how to stay safe from monsters.
We’ve put together some helpful tips to make getting started with YAPYAP easier and more fun, even for experienced players. These tips will help new players and their friends quickly earn enough money to meet their initial goals.
Take Two Wands of Winds During the First Quota
A Backup Wand is Never a Bad Idea
In the game YAPYAP, the Wand of Winds is the very first wand players get. Because there are plenty available right from the beginning, it’s common for players playing alone or with a small group to have several during the initial phase of the game.
This is especially helpful if you play alone. Using two wands means you don’t have to worry as much about waiting for your spells to recharge, because you can quickly switch between them.
For quick switching, either hold one wand in each hand or keep both wands in your right-hand slots.
Wands Can Be Dual-Wielded
Become the Ultimate Wizard With a Mastery of the Left Hand and Right Hand
Players can wield a wand in each hand if they’re carrying two. The game displays the spells each wand can cast, letting players switch between different types of spells quickly. This is much faster than constantly swapping wands in and out of a single hand.
If you’re using two of the same wand and having trouble casting the same spell repeatedly, try switching the wand in your right hand to your left hand. This can help you cast the spell more quickly one after another.
Have One Player Carry a Lightsource
Navigate the Dark in Co-Op, Or With Your Trusty Off-Hand
Torches and candles are really useful for finding your way through dark areas and spotting objects you can break. If you’re playing by yourself, it’s a good idea to hold a light in your left hand and cast spells with your right. When playing with others, it’s more efficient if only some players carry lights.
You’ll usually find candles in many rooms, but they eventually go out. Torches, however, are less common and burn continuously.
The Lux Ana spell is a good replacement for holding physical sources of light.
Gather All the Gold Available in the Lobby
Grab Over 60 Gold Coins for Free to Access More Wands and Shop Items

The lobby has a limited amount of gold that players should collect during each playthrough. At the beginning of a new game, you can find 11 gold coins on the staircase inside the house.
Once you finish the initial task and open the basement, you’ll find more than 50 gold coins hidden inside. Collecting these, along with the money you already earned, should give you enough to buy a new wand or two.
Pay Attention to Your Contracts
Contracts Aid in Extra Chaos

The YAPYAP contract board is a great way to earn extra chaos while doing what you normally do. Be sure to check it before you start a match! Contracts stay active until the quota is met, and they can reward you with hundreds of chaos for completing specific tasks.
You can quickly see a list of your current tasks by pressing the G key. This scroll will show you what each task is, how much progress you’ve made, and how much more you need to do.
If You See a Contract in an Enemy Tower, Pick It Up
A Secret Fourth Contract Can Reward More Than Just Chaos

As a player, I’ve discovered that you can find these bonus contracts actually floating inside enemy towers! Seriously, look up! They unlock a whole extra objective that gives you a ton of chaos, so definitely grab them whenever you see them – it’s totally worth it.
Please carefully review the section of the contract that covers clogged sinks and toilets. If you do, you’ll unlock the Wand of Destruction – it’s a fun tool for breaking furniture, but also useful for attacking enemies!
Check Shelves and Drawers for Items
Don’t Forget to Loot for Potions and Gold
As you explore and cause a little trouble, don’t forget to open drawers and search all the shelves. You might find potion ingredients and gold hidden inside!
Burn Furniture, Books, and Tapestries for Extra Chaos
Arson is a Wizard’s Best Friend

Certain objects, such as couches, books, and tapestries, are difficult to destroy through conventional means. A quick way to create disorder is to set them ablaze. Simply take one of the tall candelabras and use the lit end to ignite the furniture. If flammable, it will catch fire rapidly, leading to immediate chaos.
Use the Piss Yuk Spell for Many Small Chaos Actions
Okay, so ‘Piss Yuk’ is one of those spells you see everywhere in contracts – seriously, it pops up constantly. Usually, you’re filling containers with it and then chucking it at monsters. Honestly, getting the extra chaos from completing those contracts can really make or break whether you hit your quotas, so I always keep a Grotesque Wand handy just in case. It’s a lifesaver!
Beyond the formal agreements, the spell creates minor disturbances on its own. For example, using it on objects like furniture or wall hangings causes a small amount of chaos even before you break them. Similarly, filling containers with the spell and then breaking those containers adds to the overall disruption.
You can also use the Piss Yuk spell to destroy the green, jelly-like cubes. Just keep the spell focused on them until they burst.
Turn Scary Enemies into Fish, Then Run Away or Toss Them Away
Kill Enemies Through Fish Yuk’s Transformation

The Grotesque Wand is useful for many things, and its Fish Yuk spell is especially handy. This spell temporarily transforms enemies into flopping fish, which can be a lifesaver when facing tougher opponents later in YAPYAP runs.
Fast-moving players can surprisingly transform opponents into fish and launch them off the map! This ability also lets you drop enemies down to lower areas or create a window for yourself to make a quick escape.
Hide from Monsters
A Wizard Can Run and Fight, But Sometimes It’s Smart to Hide

If you can’t escape, you might be able to hide inside certain furniture pieces until the monsters go away. When you’re near furniture you can hide in, you’ll see an “E” and the word “hide” appear next to it.
Use Crystals to Get Around
Crystals Can Be Used to Warp to a Designated Area
Throughout the enemy wizard’s castle, you’ll sometimes discover crystals on balconies. When you get close to one, it will tell you where it can take you – usually a direction, or even the way out. Touch the crystal to instantly travel to that location.
These crystals let players quickly move closer to the escape point or further away from danger. Just be careful – it’s easy to get disoriented after using them! Pay attention to where you are and always keep the escape point in sight.
Always Check Your Wands at the Grimoire
Check For Hidden Spells When You Get a New Wand

When you hold a wand and approach the Grimoire, it will open to a special page. This page shows the hidden spells for that wand. Be sure to bring each wand to the Grimoire after you unlock it.
You might discover spells not found in the wand’s list or the spellbook, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different combinations of words while you play!
End Quotas Early by Going to Bed
Accomplish Your Mission Early to Sleep the Night Away
If you’ve completed your required tasks but have remaining nights, you can choose to end the experience early. Simply go to the main lobby, head downstairs, and interact with the bed. This will allow you to finish and submit your completed work.
If the words on the bed are red, you don’t have enough chaos to fulfill the quota.
