If you’re playing ARC Raiders and struggling with the player-versus-player combat, especially if you’re having trouble aiming quickly or reacting fast enough in tough situations, this list can help you improve.
As a player, I’m really excited about these new settings! They’re promising a big boost to how combat feels – giving us a real edge. Plus, they’re not just about gameplay; they’ll also make the game look and run much better, and it’ll be easier to see what’s going on around you. And the best part? There’s a hidden tip at the end that’ll help us track down enemy Raiders wherever we roam!
8. Turn Motion Blur Off
A Super Annoying Option That Is Always On By Default
Let’s start by disabling Motion Blur. Go to your game’s Settings, then Graphics, and scroll down until you find the Motion Blur option. Turn it Off. This will improve performance and eliminate the blurry effect when you move the camera. Disabling it will give you a clearer view of your surroundings, making it easier to spot enemies.
Even a slight edge can be crucial in battles, so it’s best to keep this feature turned off. Enemies will attack immediately, without hesitation, and motion blur can actually hinder your ability to escape or slide effectively, making it unnecessary.
7. Turn RTX Off
It Greatly Increases Performance
While NVIDIA RTX makes games look incredibly detailed, it uses a lot of computer power. In fast-paced games where performance is key, having it turned on automatically isn’t ideal.
Okay, so I figured out how to boost my performance! If you want to turn off ray tracing, head to your settings, then the Graphics section, and scroll down until you see ‘Ray Tracing.’ The game tries to auto-detect the best setting, jumping between High and Epic, but honestly, it’s way better to set it to ‘Static.’ Trust me, you’ll see a huge improvement, especially when you’re doing something demanding like Night Raids or when there’s an Electromagnetic Storm. It also makes it way easier to see in dark areas, which is a lifesaver!
6. Tweak Shadow Quality, Effects, And Post Processing to Improve Visibility And Performance
Will Give You The Extra Edge You Need
To improve visibility during Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storms (especially in Stella Montis with its many tunnels and dark areas), adjust your graphics settings. Go to Settings, then Graphics, and scroll down to the Quality section. Lower the Shadows setting to Low. Repeat this process for both Post-Processing and Effects, setting both of those to Low as well.
These changes will significantly improve how the game runs and how well players can see in dark environments, such as the Stella Montis tunnels. This will help players avoid surprise attacks from Rats hiding in the shadows. Additionally, the game will run much smoother during intense combat – like when being fired upon or caught in explosions – as those effects currently cause a big performance drop.
5. Turn FOV to Max
More Visibility, Easy To Detect Foes
Field of View, or FOV, is a crucial setting in third-person games, especially those with player-versus-player combat. It controls how much you can see around your character, and in a game like ARC Raiders, where awareness is key, maximizing your FOV is a big advantage.
To get the best performance, adjust the graphics settings. Go to Settings, then Graphics, and change the setting from 70 to 80. This will help you react faster, improve your aim, and make it easier to dodge attacks.
4. Maximize Performance and Visibility Tweaking NVIDIA DLSS
See Further And Better, Enhance Performance

Go to the Settings tab and find the Graphics section. Then, locate the ‘Resolution Scaling Method’ option. Change ‘NVIDIA DLSS Quality’ from ‘Auto’ to ‘Quality’ and ‘NVIDIA DLSS Model’ from ‘CNN’ to ‘Transformer’.
This will optimize both how the game runs and what you see on screen, giving you a clearer view of the map and what’s happening. This makes it easier to track enemy movements and keeps the game running smoothly during intense fights.
3. Better Controller Options For Interactions/Reload
Avoid This Common Mistake That Will Expose You In PvP
In the Controller settings, find the ‘Interact/Reload Behavior’ option and change it to ‘Tap to Interact’. This will make your character reload their weapon while you hold the interact/reload button. This prevents your character from unexpectedly looting or moving while you’re trying to reload near objects or while using them for cover.
A small adjustment to your settings could be crucial for survival in player-versus-player combat in ARC Raiders. Remember this tip before heading into popular, competitive areas like Stella Montis or when participating in Matriarch/Queen events.
2. Better Crosshairs
For Greater Control And Aiming

To make aiming easier, go to the Accessibility settings and find the ‘Custom Crosshair Options.’ Look for the ‘Override Crosshair Shape’ setting and try turning it off, then adjust it to your liking. We suggest using a circular or rounded diamond crosshair for more accurate aiming and to help control weapon spread.
You can customize crosshair colors to make them stand out in any situation. Just adjust the transparency so they don’t block your view.
1. Night Mode For Audio
Don’t Miss A Single Step, No More Rats Ambushing You
To improve your in-game audio, go to the Audio Settings and enable Night Mode. This will make loud sounds quieter and easier to hear, while also boosting quieter sounds like footsteps, shield recharging, and weapon switching.
This feature gives players an edge if they pay attention to their surroundings to spot enemy Raiders. By listening carefully, they can avoid getting caught off guard or ambushed while collecting loot, as they’ll be able to hear enemies approaching more clearly.
