As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed countless realms and RPGs, I must say that the Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio truly resonate with my inner hero. Amongst these unique combat styles, there are three that I firmly believe would significantly bolster Eupha’s prowess on her journey.
In the game ReFantazio, Eupha will be one of the penultimate characters that players will bring on board. Originating from Virga Island, which houses the enigmatic Mustari tribe, she stands out. Unlike many other societies, the Mustari do not adhere to Sanctism and are distinguished by their practice of wearing helmets.
They aren’t prohibited from taking them off, but doing so helps prevent their third eye from causing discomfort to others. Given these distinctive traits, Eupha stands out as a singular character who can bring fresh viewpoints to the narrative of ReFantazio. Moreover, being a powerful magic-user within her party, let’s suggest suitable magical Archetypes that would complement Eupha effectively.
8 Summoner
Call Creatures To Aid In The Fight
- Archetype Creator: Eupha
In Eupha’s game, the character class you begin with is called a Summoner. Similar to Summoners in Final Fantasy, Eupha can summon elemental and non-elemental entities to aid her in battle, typically targeting all opponents. A key distinction lies in the fact that players can craft their summons back at Akademeia. This includes supportive summons as well. The advanced form of this character class is Devil Summoner, which references the main Shin Megami Tensei series. Many of the summons from this category are actually demons from that game, such as Black Frost.
7 Seeker
Harvest The Power Of Wind
- Archetype Creator: Will
As a fan, I’m excited about Will in Metaphor: ReFantazio, as he’s the initial Archetype for the hero. He’s got a nice balance of physical attacks and magical abilities. To maximize his potential early on, it’s best to choose him until players can advance him to Magic Seeker. This is crucial because leveling up Magic Seeker a bit will unlock the Devil Summoner Archetype, which we’ll need later.
6 Healer
Someone Has To Be The Healer
- Archetype Creator: Maria
The primary focus for those two characters tends to be on offense, but that’s not true for the Healer character at all. You can obtain and enhance this character by forming a friendship with Maria.
For this character type (Archetype), the enhancements labeled as Cleric and Healer provide players with more potent healing abilities.
With this character type, Eupha acquires magical powers for healing individuals or the entire group. This Archetype also comes with abilities to remove harmful status effects. To conserve resources and ensure survival in the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, it’s wise for all characters to learn a bit of healing magic.
5 Mage
An RPG Staple Of Elemental Might
- Archetype Creator: Gallica
Mages are a common character type in RPG games, and the Mage class in the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio” offers multiple paths for development. As a Mage progresses to a Wizard, they’ll gain proficiency in ice, fire, and lightning magic. Further down the line, they can specialize either as an Elemental Master, which boasts powerful ice, fire, and lightning spells, or as a Warlock, who delves into darker magic less frequently useful. Regardless of the path chosen, all development will enhance Eupha’s magical abilities, though this process may be slower due to Gallica, the originator of the Archetype, being tied to the storyline and unable to be rushed through.
4 Masked Dancer
Take On The Role OF All Archetypes Through Persona
- Archetype Creator: Junah
Obtaining The Masked Dancer becomes possible when Junah becomes a team member. This distinctive character type functions similarly to a Blue Mage in other role-playing games, allowing for the learning of spells through its Archetype. However, what makes it truly special is that players can don masks and switch between them, gaining the abilities of other Archetypes during battles. Similar to summonable creatures, these masks must be crafted with More for use. The game features the most pronounced Persona references, particularly with the advanced Archetype known as Persona Master. Granting Eupha access to these masks would provide her with tactical versatility in combat.
3 Thief
Learn To Steal Items And Kill With Darkness
- Archetype Creator: Heismay
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve discovered that the elusive Thief class in the epic RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, becomes available only after players successfully recruit Heismay. At first glance, this non-magical Archetype might seem like an odd suggestion for my character, Eupha. However, there’s a compelling reason behind it that I can’t ignore.
To unlock the Masked Dancer character, players must progress and elevate both the Mage and Thief characters first. To reach the Warlock character, players should advance the Assassin, which is a variant of the Thief. It’s not essential to bring Eupha up to the Ninja level unless players choose to finish the cycle for additional challenge or satisfaction.
2 Faker
A More Stat-Based Rogue
- Archetype Creator: Alonzo
A Faker is not related to the Thief Archetype although the two share some things in common. Players can get it when they meet Alonzo and take care of his optional side quest in Metaphor: ReFantazio. The Faker is based around debuffing enemies from lowering defenses to lowering attack power. This is not a bad set of skills for a magic-based character like Eupha to have and it can help a lot with bosses. More importantly, leveling up the Faker is necessary to gain access to the Persona Master.
1 Commander
A Samurai Who Deals In Flag Twirling
- Archetype Creator: Bardon
At approximately the same time as Alonzo, players will encounter Bardon, who embodies this particular Archetype. Visually, Bardon resembles a samurai, from his armor to his katana. Interestingly, the Commander Archetype also has a samurai-like appearance, though its associated weapon is more reminiscent of a baton. The Commander can attack and possesses effective fire and ice abilities, but its primary function is to bolster the party’s strength. In essence, a Commander serves as a sort of cheerleader, offering support, but with a cooler aesthetic and making it an excellent choice for Eupha to acquire some beneficial skills.
