With over 20 characters to choose from in *Megabonk*, the Bandit stands out as the most powerful when it comes to scaling up. To get the Bandit, you’ll first need to unlock the Desert map (the second map available in *Megabonk*). Then, find the Bandit statue and defeat the Bandit miniboss that appears. Finally, after getting 12,500 kills with the Sword to earn the Dexectutioner weapon, you can purchase the Bandit character.
While this class can become very strong later in *Megabonk*, Bandit builds start a bit slowly. Players who find good Bandit weapons, helpful Tomes, and useful items will be able to power up quickly and defeat most bosses easily – except for the toughest ones that can’t be instantly defeated with the Bandit’s initial weapon.
This guide is designed for players who have unlocked all weapon and tome slots, and most of the available items. While helpful for earlier levels, it’s specifically optimized for successful Tier 3 runs in Megabonk.
Best Bandit Weapons in Megabonk
The Best Weapons for Bandit in Megabonk
The Bandit begins the game with the Dexecutioner weapon and a special ability that slightly increases their attack speed as they level up. The Dexecutioner is a close-combat weapon that fires projectiles in a straight line, and it has a small chance to instantly defeat enemies. Successfully defeating an enemy with the Dexecutioner increases the chance of instantly defeating future enemies.
The Dexecutioner works well with the Bandit’s ability to increase attack speed. Faster attacks mean the Dexecutioner has more chances to activate its special ‘Execute’ ability.
While many weapons work well with the Dexecutioner’s special ability, the Wireless Dagger, Revolver, Bow, and Bananarang are particularly effective choices. They excel at quickly eliminating groups of enemies, dealing high damage, and easily combine with items you’ll likely be collecting to improve your Dexecutioner build.
Wireless Dagger
- Wireless Dagger Effect: Fires smart daggers at your enemies. Wireless tech goes crazy these days.
Revolver
- Revolver Effect: Fires multiple bullets at enemies.
Bow
- Bow Effect: Shoots arrows that pierce enemies.
Bananarang
- Bananarang Effect: Throws bananas that return to the owner.
Best Bandit Tomes in Megabonk
The Best Tomes for Bandit in Megabonk
For Bandit, the Cooldown Tome is the most useful, as it increases how often his passive and the special attacks of the Dexecutioner and Joe’s Dagger activate. Prioritize it in your build after the XP Tome, Luck Tome, and potentially the Cursed Tome – it should be in your third or fourth slot.
To succeed in the current version of Megabonk, you really need to find the XP Tome and Luck Tome to advance into Tier 3 and have a chance at defeating the final boss on either map. If you haven’t found either of these within the first five minutes of a run, it’s usually best to start a new one.
Keep using ‘Refresh’ and ‘Banish’ until the game is forced to give you one of these special books as a reward.
If you don’t have a Cooldown Tome, the Precision Tome is a good alternative because it works well with weapons that already have a high chance to critically hit. The Quantity Tome increases your chances of activating Execute, and the Damage Tome helps you deal more damage as the game progresses.
XP Tome/Cursed Tome/Luck Tome
- XP Tome Effect: Increases how much XP you gain from every source
- Cursed Tome: Increases Difficulty, increasing enemy spawns and stats
- Luck Tome: Increases the Luck stat, improving your chance to get good items or upgrades
Cooldown Tome
- Cooldown Tome Effect: +Attack Speed – how quickly you shoot projectiles and perform attacks.
Precision Tome
- Precision Tome Effect: +Crit Chance – chance to deal critical damage. More than 100% Crit Chance lets you Overcrit, dealing even more damage.
Quantity Tome
- Quantity Tome Effect: +Projectile Count – increases the number of attacks/projectiles.
Damage
- Damage Tome Effect: +Damage – increases the damage of your attacks.
Best Bandit Items in Megabonk
The Best Items for Bandit in Megabonk
Top Bandit players using Megabonk should focus on items that give special abilities to critical hits, boost the chance of triggering effects, or work well with his abilities and initial Dexecutioner weapon.
When looking for useful items, prioritize Moldy Cheese and Ice Crystals. These are great for weakening enemies, especially if your character attacks quickly.
For powerful, fast-attacking builds, Unstable Transformation is a top choice among Rare Items. Beer, Backpack, and Demonic Blade are also great options for boosting your weapon’s power without significant drawbacks.
Okay, so finding truly amazing Epic items for this build is tough, but there are a few I really recommend. First, Grandma’s Secret Soup is awesome because it boosts your Crit chance, which is huge. Then, Slup Gloves give you a little bit of healing, which helps with survivability. And finally, Eagle Claw is just *fun* – it lets you launch enemies up in the air super quickly, giving you breathing room and control!
To create a strong Bandit build in *Megabonk*, two items are almost essential: Overpowered Lamp and Joe’s Dagger. Overpowered Lamp makes your attacks more likely to trigger special on-hit effects. Joe’s Dagger works like the Dexecutioner’s passive ability, but it boosts your total damage every time you successfully execute an enemy.
Okay, so things like Big Bonk and Anvil are always good to have, no matter what build you’re doing. But if you happen to see Joe’s Dagger or the Overpowered Lamp being sold by that guy in the hat? Seriously, start saving your Gold right away! Those two items are *amazing* with this build and make a huge difference.
