Okay, so in Shape of Dreams, things get tough fast – there are enemies everywhere and a lot of danger. To survive each run, which is a roguelite, you really need to build a unique character. It’s not totally random though, thankfully! You can pick a Traveler that fits how you like to play. I’ve put together a Tier List ranking all the Travelers from best to worst, based on how effective they are in Shape of Dreams.
Don’t stress about picking a bad character in Shape of Dreams – the game doesn’t have any! While all characters are viable, some fit certain playstyles better and offer more diverse ways to play.
Shape of Dreams Character Tier List
In Shape of Dreams, how you build your character is the most important thing. Having the best Memory allows you to defeat any enemy, but it all starts with choosing a strong character. Currently, there are eight playable Travelers in the game.
It wouldn’t be very interesting if all the characters were available right away. Instead, you’ll unlock them by completing different challenges. What’s cool is that each character in Shape of Dreams has its own specific unlock requirements, so you can unlock them in whatever order you prefer.
- Lacerta – Unlocked during the tutorial.
- Mist – Unlocked after completing the tutorial.
- Vesper – Reach the Dream of the Night Sky.
- Yubar – Collect 300 Dream Dust in total.
- Aurena – Heal 25,000 total health.
- Nachia – Defeat the Demon of the Forest at least 20 times.
- Shell – Collect three souls in the Samurai World and revive the wooden doll.
- Bismuth – Maintain a movement speed of at least 900 for three seconds.

The Best Shape of Dreams Travelers
In Shape of Dreams, a few characters are exceptionally powerful. They’ve earned their place at the very top – S-Tier – because they have the highest battle potential.
- Aurena – Incredible healing abilities and combat potential. Due to the high-risk, high-reward gameplay, this can be quite challenging for beginners.
- Bismuth – The best choice for players who prefer ranged combat in this fun roguelike game. We recommend focusing on increasing mobility to avoid any damage.
- Mist – Although not a healer, she has the highest survivability thanks to her parry and dash abilities.
