
As a D&D fan, I’m really happy to see the Cleric class available right from the start in Solasta 2’s Early Access! Every good party needs someone to keep everyone alive, and honestly, the Cleric is the best healer you can ask for when it comes to D&D classes. It’s a huge relief to have a solid healing option right away.
Clerics use divine magic to heal their companions and destroy enemies. Although the Paladin class is also available in the early version of Solasta 2, it focuses more on fighting. Unlike the Cleric, Paladins aren’t as effective at healing unless players find a lot of helpful potions and scrolls throughout the world of Neokos.
While the addition of the Bard and Druid classes in a future Solasta 2 update could change things, the Cleric is currently a must-have character for players. To succeed in the game’s challenging fights, you’ll need to make sure your Cleric is well-equipped and skilled.
This guide is written for the initial release of Solasta 2, which came out on March 12, 2026. Because the game will be updated with new features and a higher level cap, this guide will be revised as needed to stay current.
Best Cleric Stats in Solasta 2

Clerics are powerful spellcasters, and magic is their specialty. Since a Cleric’s spells are powered by Wisdom, you’ll want to increase your Wisdom score as quickly as you can!
Once you’ve taken care of Wisdom, prioritize Dexterity and Constitution. Dexterity helps you dodge attacks by improving your defense, while Constitution gives you more health to stay in the fight. Remember, you can’t help your teammates if you’re not alive yourself!
Best Cleric Ancestry/Species in Solasta 2

The initial version of Solasta 2 lets you choose from four character origins. Dwarf is generally the strongest choice, offering more health, protection against poison, and the ability to detect hidden enemies and see through blindness. This added toughness is particularly helpful for Cleric characters, especially those with the Ascetic Background (explained in the next section).
When you start the game, you’ll choose a Divine Order. For now, pick Thaumaturge, as the gear options for Protector aren’t very helpful in this early version of the game.
If you’re not playing a Variant Human, the next best choice is a Human with the Quick Origin feat. This gives you a bit more speed to get to teammates who are hurt, but its biggest benefit is that it makes it harder for enemies to hit you with opportunity attacks – they’ll roll with disadvantage.
Best Cleric Background/Origin Feat in Solasta 2

In Solasta 2, your character’s Background matters a lot more than it did in Baldur’s Gate 3. It directly affects which stats are increased, and some Backgrounds are particularly useful because they’re the only way to fully maximize your spellcasting abilities.
For Clerics in Solasta 2, the Ascetic Background is the strongest choice. It increases your three most important stats – Wisdom, Dexterity, and Constitution – and includes the Robust Feat. This feat gives you extra hit points and can automatically stabilize you at 1 hit point in combat, providing a lifeline when healing potions aren’t available and allowing allies to save you from being defeated.
If you want to create a character who’s a powerful spellcaster, the Acolyte background is a great choice. It allows you to increase your Wisdom and Constitution scores, and it also gives you the Magic Initiate (Cleric) feat, which lets you learn two additional cantrips and one first-level spell.

Clerics aren’t typically the group’s experts at using Skills—that role usually falls to the Rogue. They only get to choose two Skills specific to their class, and the options available aren’t very extensive.
For an easier start, focus on Perception and Medicine. Perception will help your team notice dangers, while Medicine lets you heal injured friends – which fits well with your support role. If you chose the Thaumaturge background, Religion and Intelligence are also good options, especially if you get more skill choices, as you can add your Wisdom bonus to them.

In Solasta 2, the Cleric class offers three specializations – Life, Oblivion, and Battle – and you choose one when your character reaches level 3.
This class feature expands your spell list to include Aid, Bless, Cure Wounds, and Lesser Restoration. You also gain two benefits: Disciple of Life, which increases healing from your spells by 2 + your Cleric level, and Preserve Life, allowing you to spend a Channel Divinity use to heal up to five times your Cleric level across multiple targets.
As an Oblivion paladin, you learn the spells Inflict Wounds, Sleep, Calm Emotions, and Ray of Enfeeblement. You also gain two special abilities: Gate Keeper, which can stabilize a dying ally at the start of their turn and gives everyone a bonus on death saving throws, and Herald of Pain, allowing you to deal 2d8 damage to all nearby enemies (within 30 feet) by spending your Channel Divinity, and briefly weaken one of them, giving them disadvantage on attacks and ability checks for a minute.
Okay, so this class feature seriously boosts my spellcasting! I’m getting Magic Missile, Shield, Acid Arrow, and Shatter added to my list – awesome! Plus, every time I take a long rest, I automatically get temporary hit points equal to three times my Cleric level, which is a huge defensive boost. It also means I can cast spells even if I’m, like, holding a shield and a potion – super convenient. And here’s the really cool part: if I hit an enemy, I can use my Channel Divinity to deal extra force damage (2d6 plus my Cleric level) and even try to stun them with a Constitution save. Talk about a game-changer!
Choosing the best Cleric subclass is tough because they’re all strong, but Oblivion is a standout. Its Herald of Pain ability is incredibly effective at dealing damage to all enemies within 30 feet (though they get a chance to reduce the damage), without harming your allies. This is especially useful when you’re surrounded by enemies, and because it’s not a spell, you can still use a quick healing spell like Healing Word in the same turn.

Since the current early access version of Solasta 2 only lets you reach level 4, your Cleric will only be able to use cantrips and spells from levels 1 and 2. You can supplement these with healing scrolls and magical items to expand your options.

When your Cleric reaches level 4, they can choose one Feat – a special ability available to all character classes. While there aren’t a lot of Feats specifically designed for spellcasters or healers right now, there are still some excellent choices that can really benefit your Cleric.
This ability guarantees that your cantrips will always deal half damage to an enemy, regardless of whether they succeed on their saving throw. It significantly improves the effectiveness of spells like Sacred Flame!

Okay, so this enchantment is a lifesaver! I usually try to use it to get my Wisdom score as high as possible, especially if I’ve been slacking on that stat. If my Wisdom is already good, I’ll pump up my Dexterity or Constitution with it – basically, whatever will make my character stronger and more survivable!
With the Blessing of the Elements, you can use your Reaction to gain resistance to a specific type of elemental damage when you’re hit by it. This is a great way to help your Cleric survive during combat.
