As a die-hard CS2 enthusiast with years of gaming under my belt, I am beyond excited about the fresh talent that’s set to shake up the competitive scene in 2025! While it’s always a treat to watch established legends like donk, m0NESY, and ZywOo dominate, it’s the newcomers who truly capture my imagination.
In 2025, players of Counter-Strike can expect a fresh playing field. With the aftermath of post-Major team adjustments and new regulations set by Valve, the competitive landscape of CS2 is poised for a significant transformation, marking a stark contrast to previous years.
In the upcoming 2025 season, it’s likely that some of the same outstanding players from 2024 – such as donk, m0NESY, ZywOo, and others – will continue their impressive performances. However, instead of focusing on those who are already established at the top, we’ll be examining rising stars poised to make a big impact in the elite tier next year.
Best CS2 Players to Watch in 2025
Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa
As a dedicated fan, I’m excited about the prospect of Argentinian rising star malbsMd elevating his game even further now that long-time rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is moving on to Falcons. MalbsMd, who joined us from M80 this summer, made an impressive debut with G2 and truly shone at some of the year’s biggest tournaments, including the Shanghai Major. With superstar AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov remaining in the lineup, malbsMd has a fantastic opportunity to take a massive stride forward and continue contributing to G2’s success.
Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak
In CS2, there’s no lack of extraordinary AWPers, and Team Liquid seems well-positioned to join the elite tier. After acquiring their current roster from Illuminar Gaming last year, Liquid’s AWPer has shown exceptional skill, with notable performances outside of IEM Rio and the final BLAST events. During his first Major tournament, he stood out as a key player during Liquid’s playoff run, delivering great value both as a primary AWPer and secondary entry fragger.
Dorian “xertioN” Berman
In the present MOUZ team setup, there’s an abundance of promising youth, but it’s xertioN who stands out. This 20-year-old Israeli player is a versatile main entry, capable of expertly leveraging his utility in ways that greatly benefit MOUZ. This year, MOUZ achieved numerous deep playoff runs and secured the victory for ESL Pro League Season 19, largely due to xertioN’s exceptional performance. Since resuming after a VAC ban, Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo has also been delivering outstanding results for MOUZ.
