Best DRS IAR Builds in Battlefield 6

In first-person shooter games, weapon attachments are key to improving a gun and making it effective in battle. While some attachments are better than others, players need to choose wisely based on their overall strategy and playstyle.

The DRS IAR is the second Light Machine Gun players unlock in Battlefield 6. While it might not be everyone’s first pick, it’s a solid weapon if built correctly. Because attachments significantly impact its performance, this guide will cover the DRS IAR and the best way to equip it in Battlefield 6.

DRS IAR Overview in Battlefield 6

The DRS IAR is technically a Light Machine Gun, but it performs much like an Assault Rifle. It’s effective at both medium and long distances, delivering reliable damage. What sets it apart is its high damage output and the fact that all classes can wield it without being slowed down. Compared to other LMGs, it boasts a very fast rate of fire and a quick reload, which are significant advantages.

Okay, so this gun isn’t perfect. The biggest issue for me is the magazine – only 30 rounds! You really have to pace your shots, because it empties fast, and you’re in trouble if you run into more than a couple of enemies. Also, without any attachments, the recoil is pretty wild. It makes hitting targets at a distance super difficult, and honestly, it doesn’t perform as well as other guns in those longer-range fights.

The included 20-inch SDM-R barrel dramatically boosts the weapon’s muzzle velocity by 180, making it stand out from other light machine guns. This increased power, combined with a bullet velocity of 900, lets you quickly defeat enemies.

As you get better with LMGs, try attaching the 6H54 Vertical grip to help control the weapon’s recoil. This will make your shots more accurate, but it will slow down how quickly you aim down sights. Also, the standard magazine isn’t very large, so we strongly suggest using the 40 RND Magazine – those extra 10 bullets can be a game-changer when you’re in a firefight.

The MW Green Laser is a great value at just 20 points, improving your aim when shooting from the hip in close combat. For the best scope, choose the PVQ-31 4.00X. Its magnification makes it much easier to find and hit targets from a distance.
