As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed through many a Hyrulean landscape, I can’t help but appreciate the intricate details that the developers of Echoes of Wisdom have woven into their side quests. These little tasks not only provide an engaging distraction from the main storyline, but they also offer valuable rewards that significantly aid Link and Zelda on their journey.
The Tale of Zelda: Echoes of Sagacity
Of course, in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, there are tasks to conquer. Rewards can vary from items like smoothie ingredients or rupees, while others will greatly aid the main storyline. Here’s a list of some top early side quests in Echoes of Wisdom that you might want to focus on first.

6 Cuccos On The Loose
Save The Chicken, Earn A Fairy
- Location: Kakariko Village
- Reward: Fairy Bottle
In the heart of Kakariko Village within The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, I stumbled upon a peculiar side quest – Cuccos on the Loose. A local woman has misplaced all her feathery pals and enlists my aid to round ’em up. They’re easy enough to spot around town, save for one that’s found itself atop a windmill. With a bit of clever stacking, it shouldn’t be too tough to rescue the wayward Cucco!
When each Cucco is handed over to the woman, she rewards players with a Magic Bottle. With this Magic Bottle, players can capture wild fairies and store them temporarily, much like in other Zelda games. If a player meets their demise, the trapped fairy will set itself free, resuscitate Zelda, and then float away.
5 The Fireworks Artist
Gain A Cool Monster Distraction
- Location: Goron City
- Rewards: Miscellaneous
Players of “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” might want to embark on The Fireworks Artist quest, despite it being located quite some distance to the Northwest. This area could be challenging at first, but by exercising caution, players can navigate through it. To reach their destination, they must ascend Eldin Volcano and eventually discover Goron City. Within the city’s main hut resides a fireworks artist known as Basa.
In the game “Echoes of Wisdom”, Basa requires Blastpowder Soil to craft additional fireworks for an imminent celebration. To obtain this Blastpowder Soil, players should journey northwards from Goron City, towards the mountains, as it can be found along the route. As a bonus, they will receive 50 rupees for their efforts – a decent reward considering the early stages of the game. Moreover, players can also earn the Firework Echo, which doesn’t harm enemies but serves as an effective distraction and lure to set up a sneaky ambush.
4 Runaway Horse
Travel Around Hyrule In Style
- Location: Hyrule Ranch
- Reward: A Horse
In many sandbox-style games, you’ll often find options for controlling animals or vehicles, and this new Zelda game follows suit. Yet, unlike traditional Zelda games, the horse isn’t essential in “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” due to numerous fast travel points throughout the world. Nevertheless, horse enthusiasts can acquire one early on within the campaign.
Near Kakariko Village lies the Hyrule Farm, managed by an individual who’s missing a horse. Zelda is tasked to find it, initiating the “Runaway Horse” mission. Situated right west of the farm, the area is enclosed by a tiny water-filled ditch. Upon rescuing the horse, players can choose one of the limited horses available to traverse Hyrule.
3 Recipes, Please!
Help These Scrubs Expand Their Smoothies
- Location: Kakariko Village
- Reward: Survey Scope
The “Recipes, Please!” side quest in Echoes of Wisdom appears to start spontaneously once players create their first smoothie. Characters known as Business Scrubs, who can be found near most towns, will provide Zelda with the opportunity to either craft or sell these smoothies. All that’s required is for players to select two items from their inventory and mix them together.
An early notable instance is concocting Refreshing Grape Juice to rejuvenate health bars. Various potions can replenish vitality, enhance defense capabilities, cause Zelda to emit a dark glow, and much more. The game “Recipes, Please!” tasks players with creating ten smoothies for the Shop Keepers. Upon completion, players will receive the Survey Scope accessory as a reward, which simplifies the process of finding ingredients. However, this is merely the initial stage, as there are higher tiers of recipes to unlock for even greater benefits.
2 Run Into The Stamp Guy
Leads To Another Fairy Bottle
- Location: N/A
- Rewards: Miscellaneous
In the game “Echoes of Wisdom”, this side quest isn’t explicitly named like Recipes, Please!, but it shares a similar structure with multiple levels. Players will encounter stamp podiums randomly throughout Hyrule during their journey. For instance, there is one near the smoothie stand outside Kakariko Village.
After players trigger a stamp station, a lively character descends from above on a parachute, identifying himself as the Stamp Man. For each set of five stamps gathered, players receive a reward. The first round’s reward is ten bottles of fresh milk, and the second prize is one Golden Egg. Although not exorbitant, these rewards are beneficial for those aiming to make more smoothies, but they aren’t uncommon either. Nonetheless, it’s worth continuing with the collection because the third level will grant access to a new Fairy Bottle in “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom“.
1 Introduce Zelda To The Slumber Dojo
A Good Way To Earn Hearts
- Location: Kakariko Village
- Rewards: Miscellaneous
In Kakariko Village, towards the western edge, lies a final side mission that develops progressively throughout your journey. Inside the Slumber Dojo, you’ll find yourself challenged with a series of combat situations involving monsters.
In the Blank-Slate Battle, all monster Echoes will be wiped clean to give a fresh start, while Caromadillo’s Revenge will prove to be a tough fight even with prior Echoes learned. Performing well in these two options will reward players with five Electro Apples, five Monster Fangs, five Jars of Floral Nectar, and one Heart Piece. Similar to other Zelda games, players can boost their health by collecting four Heart Pieces, and this is merely the opening act for the Slumber Dojo.
