However, if I were to rank them based on my personal experience, the Whip Knuckle would undoubtedly be my top pick.

Firstly, players should purchase an Axe from Hammer located within The Lost Village. Then, they must locate the enemy wearing black attire known as the Axe Armor to gain its ability. Once this is achieved, which shouldn’t be too challenging, players can combine the Axe with the Axe Armor Soul at Yoko’s to create a Battle Axe, another powerful weapon for battle.
To prepare the second weapon fusion, gamers must first domesticate the Manticore, a creature that is likely recognizable to aficionados of the Castlevania franchise or even Dungeons & Dragons. You can locate it within the Wizardry Lab. Once you’ve captured its Soul, players can then craft the Bhuj weapon. It’s worth mentioning that the Manticore’s ability will grant Gomorra a tail, and it’s an effective combat skill to acquire, so gamers might want to collect two Souls during this process.
5 Falchion
A Heavy Sword To Strike From Above

Falchion is an easier weapon to get compared to the Bhuj. It’s a heavy sword and the easiest way to get it is to first nab the Claymore that is sitting in the room after the Flying Armor boss fight. Once acquired, players should then fight some Wargs which will be around a field with the Axe Armor enemies in The Lost Village.
Players can use this Soul to craft the Falchion at Yoko’s later on. Although the Warg ability isn’t as potent as the Manticore tail, it serves as a good early attack for players. The Falchion is particularly effective when used to strike enemies from above, much like Sephiroth does in Final Fantasy 7 against a specific character.
4 Halberd
A Strong Early Polearm

In Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, acquiring the Halberd can be just as challenging as obtaining the Bhuj. Players might stumble upon the Spear weapon within The Lost Village’s shop district, perched on a cliff. Alternatively, it’s also possible to purchase this weapon from Hammer, but it’s not essential unless players aim to manufacture multiple ones for a quick monetary gain in the game.
As a dedicated Dark Souls fan, I can tell you that to craft the Partizan, you’ll first require an Armor Knight Soul. Once that’s in hand, you’ll need to secure an Axe Armor Soul to create the Halberd with Yoko. Polearms such as the Halberd may be slower but they pack a powerful punch and offer the added benefit of maintaining distance from enemies. The further we keep them at bay, the safer our journey through the game becomes – a tactic that seasoned Dark Souls players are all too familiar with.
3 Handgun

The Handgun is one of the most ridiculous weapons in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow let alone the entire series. Technically this does take place in the future, so it’s not as weird as seeing a handgun in the 1600s. It’s funny watching Soma blast away vampires and other ghouls like he’s Blade or something. As ridiculous as the Handgun is, it is admittedly useful.
This weapon has less attack strength compared to other polearms in the game, but offers advantages such as infinite ammunition and extended range. Plus, it’s further superior in these aspects. You can purchase this item for 12,000 gold from Hammer in The Lost Village. It’s a substantial cost, but if players manage to sell their old equipment and accumulate gold through gameplay, it’s still considered reasonably priced.
2 Katana
Japan’s Bladed Secret Weapon

In video games, Katanas are among the most stylish weapons, wielded by both noble samurai and stealthy ninjas. To obtain a Katana within “Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow”, players initially need to discover the Blunt Sword hidden in the Wizardry Lab. Although it can be used at this stage, the draw speed is sluggish, and when sheathed, it doesn’t have the correct appearance.
To truly immerse in the samurai ambiance, players require the Bomber Armor Soul, an adversary that can be spotted within the Wizardry Lab. Once found, head to Yoko’s forge to craft a suitable weapon with decent blade quality. The Bomber Armor is equipped with an impressive skill as its bombs can obliterate enemies in a manner similar to Konami’s popular franchise, Bomberman.
1 Whip Knuckle
Powerful Jabs To Swiftly Take Down Enemies

In simpler terms, during your early stages of gameplay, you’ll find that the Whip Knuckle is the quickest weapon at your disposal, making Soma resemble a boxer specializing in jabs. Initially, purchase the Brass Knuckles from Hammer. Subsequently, forge the Cestus once you’ve obtained a Zombie Soul from The Lost Village, which is one of the easiest souls to acquire.
Obtaining the Whip Knuckle can be challenging for players since they’ll have to secure a Soul from a Slaughterer enemy in the Wizardry Lab. Some players might find it quickly, while others may face difficulties with this porky adversary. However, regardless of how long it takes, players must obtain the Soul to craft the Whip Knuckle. Once obtained, they can deliver swift, lightning-quick punches to enemies, but be prepared to get close to them. This is when you’ll need to become accustomed to using the dodge button for evasion.
