- All For One: Steals and bestows quirks, enabling multiple power usage.
As a long-time fan and follower of the My Hero Academia universe, I must say that the power dynamics within this world are nothing short of astounding. Among all the extraordinary quirks, there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest – the All For One quirk.
In the universe of “My Hero Academia”, there are three main categories of superpowers, or quirks: Emitters, Transformations, and Mutants. Among these, it’s Emitters that are the most prevalent. What makes them stand out is not just their widespread nature, but also the broad spectrum of abilities they encompass.
Since the manga “My Hero Academia” has concluded its run, it’s time to highlight the standout Emitter abilities within the series. These are not ordinary emitters, but rather the most potent ones available. In other words, we’re talking about the series’ heavy-hitters. With that notion in mind, here are some of the strongest Emitter quirks found in “My Hero Academia”, arranged according to the power level of the abilities:
10 Whirlwind
Full Control Of The Surrounding Air
- Quirk Wielder: Inasa Yoarashi
- Alias: Gale Force
- First Appearance: Episode 54
Inasa Yoarashi, a prominent student at Shiketsu High School, is known for his whirlwind ability. He made a significant impact during his debut in the Provisional Hero License Exam arc, captivating everyone with his exuberant personality and the power of his quirk.
Moving on to the peculiarity known as Whirlwind, this ability endows Yoarashi with the flexibility to effortlessly control the air surrounding him, resulting in a powerful gust of wind. With Whirlwind, Yoarashi is capable of generating anything from a soothing zephyr to a ferocious twister. Furthermore, he can even utilize Whirlwind for flight.
9 Half-Cold Half-Hot
Create And Control Fire & Ice
- Quirk Wielder: Shoto Todoroki
- Alias: Shoto
- First Appearance: Episode 5
It’s well-known among fans of “My Hero Academia” that Half-Cold Half-Hot is the unique ability of Shoto Todoroki, a prominent student at U.A. High School. What sets him apart is that he was born with a hybrid quirk; he inherited his ice-based power from his mother and his fire-based power from his father, Endeavor.
In a unique ability, Todoroki can produce and manage heat and fire from his left side, while his right side creates and controls cold and ice. His expertise lies in powerful moves capable of vast areas at once – for instance, an immense ice barrier encompassing an entire arena, or a flaming inferno that could reduce everything within about 100 yards into ashes. Among the students listed here, only Yoarashi and Todoroki exist, making it likely they’ll climb the ranks with sufficient practice.
8 Ice Ply
Manipulate Any Nearby Ice
- Quirk Wielder: Geten Himura
- Alias: Iceman
- First Appearance: Episode 109
Geten Himura, a prominent executive for the Meta Liberation Army, later promoted to one of its nine lieutenants as it morphed into the Paranormal Liberation Front, possesses a unique ability known as Ice Ply. This talent makes him exceptionally skilled in both offensive and defensive strategies, given his ability to execute large-scale attacks.
Initially, Geten could only control the ice in his surroundings since he doesn’t have the ability to make his own ice, unlike Todoroki. But following a Quirk Awakening, he gained the power to change the temperature of water within his reach, enabling him to produce ice whenever there’s water available nearby. It’s been demonstrated that Geten can effortlessly freeze an entire town.
7 Blueflame
Generate And Manipulate Scorching Blue flames
- Quirk Wielder: Toya Todoroki
- Alias: Dabi
- First Appearance: Episode 31
Toya Todoroki, commonly recognized as the villain Dabi, is the unique ability of this character. He’s the son of Enji Todoroki, also known as Endeavor. What sets Dabi apart is his Blueflame quirk, which boasts the highest temperature among all fire-based abilities. In fact, his flames surpass those of his father.
Funny thing is, while my younger brother Shoto’s body can handle both heat and cold, I, on the other hand, was born with a body that only endures cold. So you could say I accidentally set myself ablaze every time I activate my quirk. It’s ironic, given that I can torch an entire city block with my blue flame. If only I could control it better, I could have been the world’s strongest fire user. Sadly, each attempt to unleash my full potential just ends up burning me instead.
6 Hellflame
Generate And Manipulate Extreme Flames
- Quirk Wielder: Enji Todoroki
- Alias: Endeavor
- First Appearance: Episode 17
Enji Todoroki, better known by his pseudonym Endeavor, possesses a unique ability called Hellflame as his quirk. Following All Might’s retirement, Endeavor ascended to become Japan’s top hero, a position he held steadfastly until his eventual retirement at the conclusion of the series.
It’s widely believed that Endeavor is among the most skilled fire manipulators globally, largely because of the incredible versatility of his quirk, Hellflame. With this ability, he can simultaneously annihilate numerous opponents or precisely target a single enemy. Moreover, he can utilize his fire for flight. Thus, it’s not an overstatement to consider Endeavor as one of the strongest fire users in existence.
5 Decay
Disintegrate Anything He Touches
- Quirk Wielder: Tenko Shimura
- Alias: Tomura Shigaraki
- First Appearance: Episode 8
Tomura Shigaraki, head of the League of Villains and the Paranormal Liberation Front, and a primary antagonist in “My Hero Academia,” possesses a unique trait – decay. Moreover, it’s worth noting that he was a student under the series’ most powerful overlord, All For One.
Through Decay, Shigaraki possesses the power to cause rapid deterioration of anything he physically contacts. A mere brush of his fingertip initiates a swift decay process that affects both objects and people alike, earning it the ominous title of a “touch of death.” Following his awakening, he can also transmit this Decay to items that aren’t in direct contact with him. What makes Shigaraki particularly dangerous is that unlike most quirks, there’s no known method for reversing the decay process, which prevents him from reaching higher ranks on the villain list.
4 Overhaul
Reassembling Matters With His Bare Hands
- Quirk Wielder: Kai Chisaki
- Alias: Overhaul
- First Appearance: Episode 62
The unique trait of Kai Chisaki, head of the Shie Hassaikai Yakuza group, is his ability to develop a drug that alters a person’s inherent power, or quirk. This potion has the power to amplify, temporarily disable, and completely eliminate someone’s quirk. Fortunately, Sir Nighteye’s organization, comprising Lemillion and Deku among others, detected Chisaki and thwarted his plans to mass-produce these drugs before they could cause widespread harm.
Upon initial observation, Overhaul might seem identical to Shigaraki’s Decay ability. However, a closer look reveals that they function differently. While both quirks can disintegrate objects with hand contact, Overhaul does not destroy matter as Decay does. Instead, it rearranges the molecular structure of the material. This unique characteristic allows Chisaki to merge various items together, such as integrating a human body with car tires without causing harm to the human in advance. Moreover, Overhaul has the capacity to restore its target to its original form, which is something that Decay cannot do.
3 Weather Manipulation
Summoning Thunder And Storm At Will
- Quirk Wielder: N/A
- Alias: Nine
- First Appearance: My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising
Nine, a key character in the second movie of “My Hero Academia,” titled “My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising,” initially possesses the unique ability to control weather. However, during Dr. Garaki’s experiment, he obtained an inferior version of the world’s most dangerous quirk, All For One.
It’s uncertain just how much power Nine wields over the weather when he employs Weather Manipulation. However, what we do know is that he possesses the ability to transform a tranquil and ordinary day into one filled with clouds, storms, thunder, and lightning. What makes this even more perilous is his command over where the lightning strikes, allowing him to potentially target a specific location. This unique ability of Nine’s could effortlessly bring about the destruction of an entire city without the need for any movement from his position.
2 New Order
Impose A New Rule To Anything She Touches
- Quirk Wielder: Cathleen Bate
- Alias: Star and Stripe
- First Appearance: Episode 138
Cathleen Bate, our top American hero, possesses an unusual trait. Her inspiration to become a hero stems from All Might, who rescued her during her youth. Being a veteran herself, Cathleen maintains a strong bond with the U.S. military and boasts a specialized Air Force unit that assists her in her hero duties.
Under New Order’s guidance, Star and Stripe have the power to instill a new rule on anything she transforms, even extending to the very air around her. In her fierce encounter with All For One, who had already possessed Shigaraki’s body, Star and Stripe transformed the ambient air into a colossal replica of herself, inflicting severe harm upon All For One. She is capable of shaping laser beams into malleable materials, and she can also bolster her own form while simultaneously debilitating her adversary’s body. As long as Star and Stripe can imagine it, New Order will assist in making it a reality.
1 All For One
Stealing Other People’s Quirk
- Quirk Wielder: Shigaraki
- Alias: All For One (AFO)
- First Appearance: Episode 33
As a gamer, I’m about to dive into the mightiest ability among them all – the one that towers above the rest. It’s not just a quirk, it’s the ultimate game-changer. The All For One, the quirk that rules them all. This powerful quirk is wielded by the most sinister mastermind in the universe of My Hero Academia – none other than All-for-One (AFO). With this quirk, its user can seize another’s unique abilities, harness their power, and even pass them on to others at will. It’s a game of power unlike any other!
To elaborate, AFO can trigger his ability by merely touching or holding onto a target. In combat, being near him becomes risky. Not only does he possess such a formidable power, but he can also save and use multiple quirks simultaneously. This combination of abilities makes AFO’s quirk truly astounding in its strength. Therefore, it is fitting that AFO holds the title as the strongest Emitter quirks known.
