In fact, Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, has said it was a major inspiration for his game. The original Yume Nikki is a free 2D game, so it’s easily accessible and worth checking out.

There are some awesome fan-made Touhou games in 3D, but they’re not the official releases.

Touhou Mechanical Scrollery is a standout fan game in the Touhou series. It brings the classic, intense bullet-hell action into a 3D world, letting you fly around freely while dodging complex bullet patterns and engaging in some close-combat fighting. It offers a unique experience that many other games don’t. Players might encounter occasional frame rate drops, which is understandable given that it’s a fan-created project.
