As a seasoned gamer with countless hours poured into various RPGs, I can confidently say that the katana build for Cyberpunk 2077 is a masterpiece of design and strategy. Having dabbled in numerous playstyles across multiple games, I must admit that this build has left me utterly spellbound.
In the futuristic world of Cyberpunk 2077, a finely honed blade becomes just as dangerous as any firearm, given the numerous cybernetic enhancements that players can equip to their bodies. These augmentations turn even the smallest blades into formidable weapons.
As a seasoned player with over a decade of experience in the world of Cyberpunk, I can confidently say that this build is tailor-made for those who dream of becoming Night City’s ultimate cyber-samurai. It masterfully utilizes the intricate mechanics within Cyberpunk 2077 to transform your character, V, into a deadly whirlwind of steel. Enemies won’t even have time to react before they’re sliced to pieces, with not a single bead of sweat gracing the floor.

Here are some essential abilities players should acquire to inflict maximum damage with katanas. While the following advantages aren’t the only ones you should obtain as your character levels up, prioritize getting them immediately. Focus on enhancing your Reflex skills for greater damage output and, if needed, add the specified Stamina perks to boost your survivability.
In the updated skill system of Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.0, they eliminated perks that significantly amplified katana damage, making combat more lethal. To compensate for this reduction in burst damage, players must now focus on inflicting stun, blindness, and bleeding effects to momentarily incapacitate enemies, providing an opportunity for finishers. Performing a finisher not only eliminates the target but also restores V’s health.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t wait to get my hands on the agile and aggressive katana playstyle in Cyberpunk 2077! To truly master this build, I know I’ll need to be nimble on my feet, dashing and blocking at every opportunity. The key is to keep moving and stay one step ahead of my enemies to make the most out of this exhilarating new playstyle. With any extra perk points left over, I plan to invest them into my preferred skills in the other trees.
Recommended Gear
As a cyberpunk gamer, I’m pumped about the latest 2.1 update for Cyberpunk 2077! Now, instead of being stuck with just one mod on crafted weapons, I can double up and equip two mods. Let’s make the most out of this sweet new feature!
As an ardent enthusiast, I can share a strategy for crafting a katana that delivers a lethal blow – the one-shot build. To achieve this, one needs a weapon with immense power. However, it’s not always about landing a single cut to take down a target; even if you don’t manage to make a clean kill in one swing, you can still dismantle your foe with swift and precise cuts. In such a build, weapons with high critical hit chance and critical hit damage are highly favored as they significantly increase the chances of dealing devastating blows.
Here are three outstanding options for the top-tier katana: Satori, Scalpel, and Jinchu Maru.
- Satori comes with a leap attack and can inflict bleeding when drawn via a Quickdraw Attack. It can only be looted from Saburo Arasaka’s personal vehicle during The Heist in Act 1.
- Errata has a chance to ignite enemies and deal guaranteed critical damage to burning targets. It can be acquired in the Electric Corporation power plant near the Republic East fast travel point in Arroyo, Santo Domingo.
- Scalpel gets 50% more critical hit chance while under the effects of Sandevistan. This weapon is a reward for finishing the Big in Japan side quest.
Scalpel is arguably the best choice here since the build will be using a Sandevistan. The sword will lose value once players get enough critical hit chance, however, so keep a spare Epic katana for the late game or switch to using Errata. For mods, consider using Cyclone on any non-iconic katana to unleash an unlimited number of combo attacks after a sprint attack.
Cyberware
In the 2.1 update, the maximum duration and duration extension abilities of both Militech Apogee and Falcon Sandevistan were reduced (or toned down). As a counterbalance, these items now offer increased damage output for the Apogee and additional health for the Falcon.
In my gaming experience, this character build leans heavily on the Sandevistan tech for both boosting damage output and enhancing survivability. Each Sandevistan gadget provides an added critical hit chance, significantly ramping up my DPS for a brief span. Moreover, its time-dilation feature allows me to clear entire hideouts before enemies have a chance to retaliate, making it virtually impossible for anyone else to harm me while I’m the last one standing.
In the game Cyberpunk 2077, the Zetatech Sandevistan stands out as an exceptional choice due to its significant increase in weakspot damage when activated midair. Another top-tier option is the Dynalar Sandevistan, which enhances the user’s chances of scoring critical hits and increases their damage output when activated. Over time, consider the Militech Apogee Sandevistan, a model that amplifies both weakspot damage and critical hit statistics.
1. It’s strongly advised to use a Healing Automaton when your HP drops below a specific level, acting as an instant healer.
