Best Legendary Weapons and Armor in Crimson Desert

Gathering equipment is a key part of playing Crimson Desert, but many players have noticed that most weapons, armor, and accessories have very similar stats. That awesome-looking sword you discover in a secret area might be cool, but it doesn’t usually perform much better than items you can buy in town. If you’re searching for truly special items in Crimson Desert, here are some of the most interesting ones we’ve found so far.

This guide covers special equipment and Abyss Gears, with a specific focus on gear for Kliff.

Darkbringer Longsword

The Darkbringer is a special two-handed sword located northwest of Silver Wolf Mountain. You can find it stuck in the mouth of a massive skeleton. What makes this sword stand out is its Ator’s Orb Abyss Gear – whenever you use a Heavy Attack, it fires golden orbs that automatically target your enemies.

Ator’s Orb doesn’t deal much damage, but that’s not its main purpose. It’s really useful for constantly interrupting enemy attacks and keeping them off balance. This is particularly effective against bosses, and can help you continue your attack combos even when enemies aren’t completely stunned.

Want a stronger Heavy Attack for your Abyss Gear? You can get Crow’s Pursuit simply by playing through the main story – it comes from the Tauria Curved Sword.

Cannon Spears

You can make Cannon Spears at any blacksmith after learning the recipe. You’ll find these recipes in The Two-Handed Weapons of the World books, with one located inside Glenbright Manor. Look for the book on the second floor, in the count’s office. Once you read it, you’ll be able to craft a Rhinard Spear. This spear functions like a normal spear, but you can fire a projectile by using a Heavy Attack while blocking or performing a stab.

Okay, so I finally beat those two dungeons – the Sanctum of Absolution in Hernand and the Sanctum of Veneration in Deleysia – and I unlocked the recipe for the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear! It sounds awesome, but honestly, crafting it is way more involved than anything I’ve done so far.

Marni Laser Helm

The Marni Laser Helmet is a headpiece that acts like plate armor and can shoot lasers from its eyes. You can find it inside Marni’s Masterium, located at the far southeastern end of Delesyia. You can upgrade this helmet at the Kilnden Workshop to create the Kuku Marni Laser Helmet, which will give it three extra laser shots and a much faster recharge time.

Deceiver’s Fedora

This hat gives you an advantage in the Duo/Seotda minigame in Crimson Desert. You can buy it from a Mineral vendor in Tashkalp, but first, you need to earn the vendor’s trust. To do that, defeat Muskan, the champion of the local arena, and give the vendor a few Coin Pouches to raise your Trust level to 100. Once you’ve done that, he’ll sell you the Deceiver’s Fedora for 97 Silver.

Combat God’s Plate Gloves

If you defeat Muskan in Tashkalp’s Bonepit, you’ll receive the Combat God’s Plate Gloves. These gloves have a special ability called Showstopper Abyss Gear, which adds extra Electric damage to your Unarmed Attacks. They’re particularly effective against enemies vulnerable to Electric damage, such as the robots in Deleysia. Even if you don’t usually fight with your fists, these gloves are worth equipping – just throw in a few punches alongside your regular attacks to maximize their benefit.

Electro-Mecha Longsword

You can get the Electro-Mecha Longsword by defeating the Machina Knight, a boss found in Gorthak within the Crimson Desert. This boss can be challenging, so it’s best to make sure you have good equipment before you try to fight it.

Similar to the Combat God’s Plate Gloves, the Electro-Mecha Longsword adds extra Lightning damage to each attack. Both weapons use up charges when you hit an enemy, but they also recharge over time. Importantly, the Electro-Mecha Longsword can’t be upgraded, but it’s powerful enough to handle most enemies you’ll encounter.

Electro-Mecha Spear

This spear is very similar to the Electro-Mecha Longsword. To find it, go to Regent’s Rise (marked on the map). Look for a chest hidden behind some breakable boards within the circular trench, underneath the ATAG platform. Use Force Palm to break the boards and claim the spear. It charges up like the other lightning weapons, but you can’t upgrade it further.

You could also make the Kuku Lightning Spear, which starts with 10 charges instead of 5. While both spears can be upgraded, the Electro-Mecha Spear has a base attack power of 30 and a default Movement Speed of Lv 1.

Kuku Chest Armor Pieces

The three Kuku chest pieces are actually derived from unique chest armors found across Pywel:

The Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor is an upgrade to the Scorchflame Plate Armor (recipe in Sanctum of Absolution)
The Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor is an upgrade to the Frostcursed Plate Armor (recipe in Sanctum of Exaltation)
The Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor is an upgrade to the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor (recipe in Sanctum of Penitence)

These armor sets offer strong protection against their specific elements, and also boost your stats beyond just defense. The Flame armor increases your Critical Rate, the Ice armor improves your Movement Speed, and the Lightning armor enhances your Attack Speed.

Kuku armor not only protects you, but also soaks up elemental damage like fire, water, and thunder. Once it’s absorbed enough, the armor explodes, hurting all enemies around you.

Vaporwalker Boots

These unique boots allow you to glide across the surface of shallow water. They won’t help if you fall into deep water and have to swim, but they will make you much faster when skimming across shallows. To find them, head to the Ancient Rift – it’s north of Hernand and south of the letter ‘A’ on the Pailune map – and find the waterfall indicated there. Look for a small stack of stones nearby to make sure you’ve found the correct waterfall, then you’ll need to break through the waterfall to obtain the boots.
