Best Mega Knight Decks (& How to Counter it) In Clash Royale

Since its debut, Mega Knight has become a frequent inclusion in mid-level decks within Clash Royale. Frequently deemed too powerful due to its substantial health reserve and damage output, this card can effortlessly overpower the battlefield if your adversary lacks suitable countermeasures against it.

With appropriate responses, managing a Mega Knight isn’t overly challenging. It’s an excellent card that integrates well with several decks. However, just as any other Clash Royale card, mastering playing against it requires knowing the right moves when it marches down a lane. In this guide, we will reveal the top counters for the Mega Knight and the most effective decks featuring it.

Knowing the right strategies can make dealing with a Mega Knight effortless. It’s an outstanding card that works well in multiple decks. To defeat it, you must understand what to do when it approaches. This guide will unveil the best counters for the Mega Knight and the best decks utilizing it.

Mega Knight Card Overview Clash Royale

Mega Knight is versatile, excelling both offensively and defensively, but in the higher ranks, it’s quite specific and works effectively with only a few deck types. This card requires 7 elixirs to be played, and due to its Legendary status, it can be challenging for free-to-play players to fully upgrade it.

Just like Ice Wizard or Electro Wizard, Mega Knight inflicts damage on enemies as it is deployed. It has the ability to leap towards enemy units at a particular distance, causing an area of effect damage upon landing. However, if you position a troop near Mega Knight, it will move towards that troop instead of leaping. Interestingly, both Mega Knight and the adjacent troop have splash damage capabilities, making Mega Knight particularly potent against swarm defenses.

Mega Knight can’t target air troops.

The Mega Knight has a transformed version that makes his attacks push enemies away. Once pushed back, if there are no nearby enemy units, the Mega Knight will leap onto the targeted troop. Pushed units are always moved towards the crown tower in the lane. Additionally, if the crown tower falls within range, Mega Knight can also bound onto it.

How to Counter Mega Knight in Clash Royale

As a dedicated Clash Royale player, I must say, the Mega Knight is an awe-inspiring card that can be quite daunting when it’s overleveled. Yet, if your cards and King Tower are evenly matched, handling it becomes less of a challenge. It boasts a substantial health bar and packs quite a punch, reminiscent of a heavy freight train. However, similar to other high-damage troops in Clash Royale, it can be skillfully maneuvered, or “kited,” to make it vulnerable to strategic counters.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share a clever tactic for dealing with Mega Knight: Activate the King Tower strategically. This move costs just two elixirs when executed flawlessly. Here’s how it works: Allow the Mega Knight to march across the bridge and lock onto your tower. Just as it prepares to leap, position Skeletons four tiles above your King Tower in the center of the arena.

Immediately after the Mega Knight leaps onto the Skeletons, strategically position an Ice Spirit or any other Spirits directly above your King Tower. If executed correctly, the Mega Knight will proceed towards your King Tower, triggering it and significantly enhancing your ability to counter future attacks.

Deck configurations frequently combine Skeletons and Ice Spirits, enabling simple activation of the King Tower against Mega Knight, thus making it easier to defend attacks.

Besides being strong, Mega Knight tends to struggle against anti-tank troops and structures. Inferno Dragon and Inferno Tower are particularly effective counters for this card. Pekka is a major counter to both the standard and upgraded versions of Mega Knight. If you don’t possess these cards, try using a mini-tank like Knight or Valkyrie in front of the Mega Knight, followed by DPS troops such as Goblins, Spear Goblins, or Skeletons to eliminate it.

Unlike Bandit or Golden Knight, Mega Knight can still take damage during his jump.

Best Mega Knight Decks in Clash Royale

Here are some of the best decks with the Evo Mega Knight that you can try out in Clash Royale:

Deck 1

Card Name Elixir Cost
Evo Lumberjack 4
Evo Mega Knight 7
Rage 2
Arrows 3
Rune Giant 4
Mighty Miner 4
Inferno Dragon 4
Electro Wizard 4

Initially, this setup employs both the Evo Lumberjack and the Evo Mega Knight, generating intense pressure on the enemy. Adding the Enchant boost from Rune Giant further amplifies this force, providing you with ample offensive might to breach the opponent’s defenses and ultimately destroy their Tower.

Deck 2

Card Name Elixir Cost
Evo Lumberjack 4
Evo Mega Knight 7
Goblins 2
Bomber 2
Snowball 2
Ram Rider 5
Archer Queen 5
Lightning 6

This new deck shares the same strategy for evolution as the previous one, but it operates more like a Pekka Bridge Troop Spam. Essentially, you’ll be repeatedly deploying your troops to keep the opponent under pressure. On the bright side, this deck also includes the Lightning spell, which can help deal direct tower damage if you find yourself struggling to break through their defenses.

Deck 3

Card Name Elixir Cost
Evo Bats 2
Evo Mega Knight 7
Wall Breakers 2
Zap 2
Miner 3
Bandit 3
Prince 5
Archer Queen 5

The traditional Mega Knight Bridge Spam strategy, featuring the Miner and Wall Breakers, remains a potent pick in the current game environment, known as Clash Royale. With careful play, it could help you ascend all the way to Ultimate Champion. If you’d prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can replace the Prince with the Royal Ghost in your deck setup.
