This is another great movie by psychological thriller master Satoshi Kon. Similar to his other works, this movie plays a lot of mind games with the viewers that’ll leave them entranced by the dark themes of the story and the bright colors that are used in some scenes.

An Electric Bass-Wielding Woman Turns A Boy’s Life Upside Down

12-year-old Naota Nandaba’s world gets flipped when a woman named Haruko Haruhara, who rides a Vespa and plays an electric bass, runs him over. Post this incident, he develops a giant horn on his forehead, and she starts following him for mysterious purposes. This encounter is about to revolutionize the ordinary life of Naota and thrust him into a struggle for Earth’s preservation.

Unconventional, mind-bending, and rapid, FLCL may have just six episodes, but these were more than enough to establish its place among the most visually psychedelic animations available. For those seeking a uniquely offbeat humor, this anime is an excellent pick.
