They possess unique traits that set them apart from Hylian and ordinary human characters. Given their clandestine nature, they are deeply involved in stealth, enigma, and surprisingly, groundbreaking technological advancements.

In the epic saga of the Zelda series, the enigmatic Sheikah play a crucial role, featuring numerous significant figures and beloved icons hailing from this secretive race. This becomes particularly evident in the recent mainline games: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. While virtually every Sheikah has some significance, here are the standout characters from their tribe.

5 Paya

A Shy Girl Who Became A Respected Leader

Due to her charming appearance and timid demeanor, the character named Paya stood out among many others in the vast cast of Breath of the Wild. She was one of the intriguing Sheikah in the game, displaying traits unlike those typically associated with her race, making her particularly memorable for players.

Players who finished all quests related to Paya in the game discovered that beneath her timid facade, she exhibited great bravery and wisdom. Consequently, it’s not surprising that she rose to become Chief of Kakariko Village in the sequel, “Tears of the Kingdom,” following her grandmother Impa’s retirement. Throughout the game, Paya is frequently seen taking charge, with characters like Tauro or her assistant Dorian by her side. This was a surprising yet justified progression for her character.

4 Robbie

An Eccentric But Youthful Engineer

In the realm of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” an array of eccentric personalities abound, shaping the gaming experience profoundly. Among them is Robbie, a Sheikah tribesman and ingenious inventor who heads Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. This character stands out as he crafts the ancient weapons and armor essential for Link’s arsenal – some of the game’s most potent equipment.

Robbie has a really fun personality because he talks and acts like a young and energetic rock star, despite being an old man himself. Fortunately, Robbie returned in Tears of the Kingdom, where he joined the team at Lookout Landing and played a key role in developing the Purah Pad alongside his fellow Sheikah. Furthermore, fans of his were delighted to find out that a young version of Robbie from 100 years in the past is heavily featured in the spin-off, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and he’s as fun and dynamic as everyone expected him to be.

A Villainous Sheikah Who Is Also Hilarious

Typically, the Sheikah support Hyrule’s Royal Family and kingdom, but intriguingly, some of them pursue personal agendas. This divergence gave rise to the enigmatic Yiga Clan, a band of Sheikah assassins who defy their fellow tribespeople and are bound to Ganondorf. The mastermind behind this group, or as you might say their top figure, is none other than Master Kohga, a peculiar yet captivating antagonist.

Unlike Ganondorf, Master Kohga serves as a humorous adversary, often stumbling and boasting. His debut in Breath of the Wild left an impression, but he truly stood out in Tears of the Kingdom. In the sequel, Kohga and his Yiga Clan dominate much of the underworld, even capturing numerous Zonai devices to craft useful vehicles and weaponry. Their innovative approach was impressive, yet Link successfully defeated Master Kohga once more, making for another enjoyable and fulfilling battle. It’s plausible that future Legend of Zelda games might introduce more Sheikah antagonists, with Kohga likely orchestrating this development.

2 Purah

A Brilliant Inventor, And One Of The Most Important Sheikah

Among the new Sheikah characters in both “Breath of the Wild” and “Tears of the Kingdom”, it’s hard to overstate the significance of Purah. In the initial game, she played a pivotal role in maintaining and updating Link’s Sheikah Slate, an essential tool for gameplay throughout. Beyond her vital gameplay function, Purah is notable for her peculiar and juvenile appearance, a result of her self-experimentation with a unique rune. Her youthful look harmonizes beautifully with her lively personality, though she falls short of the eccentricity exhibited by her coworker, Robbie.

If Purah wasn’t already significant in previous games, she took on an even greater role in “Tears of the Kingdom.” Here, she leads Lookout Landing and aids both Link and the Sages frequently during their mission to defeat Ganondorf. In this game, she refined her aging Rune, giving her a more mature appearance while still maintaining a youthful charm, contrasting with Robbie or Impa. Her updated design has been well-received by fans, solidifying Purah as one of the most beloved Sheikah characters in the “Zelda” series.

An Iconic Guardian Who Has Been Featured In Multiple Games

When discussing beloved characters from the “Legend of Zelda” series who appear in various games across different storylines due to their multiple forms, fans often bring up the Triforce Trio consisting of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. However, there’s another character who has been nearly as prevalent and is well-known as a member of the Sheikah tribe: Impa.

In contrast to other characters from the Sheikah group that have been mentioned so far, Impa stands out as she has appeared in the storylines of the latest two games, but her history with The Legend of Zelda spans for many years prior. You might recognize Impa from before Ocarina of Time, as this game first introduced the concept of the Sheikah.
