Best Side Quests To Do In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In essence, if you primarily concentrate on the main plot of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you might finish the game in approximately 20 hours. Nonetheless, the game strongly suggests that players give Henry room to explore and interact with the larger game world via side quests.

Across every nook and cranny on both the Trosky and Kuttenberg charts, a diverse group of engaging characters can be found who need the various services that Henry offers. Many of these side-stories are elaborate and extend beyond typical expectations (with shorter quests labeled as tasks or activities), but which ones offer the most enjoyable gameplay experience?

Hush, My Darling…

Kuttenberg – Miskowitz

In Miskowitz, an unexpectedly bustling spot is the blacksmith’s residence. Here, following certain necessary tasks, Henry receives household chores for the blacksmith’s wife. Things seem routine at first, but when you go to hand over horseshoes to the client, Victoria, you find her absent and a pool of blood in her room instead.

Through some inquiries, you’ll eventually uncover that her love interest is Black, a soldier in Sigismund’s camp. After Henry cures his stomach troubles, it comes to light that Victoria’s feelings for him were one-sided and Black was deliberately avoiding her. He guides Henry to visit their regular spot, where he’ll find the lifeless body of the heartbroken girl near a tree.

Lackey

Trosky – West Of Tachov

If you want Henry to enhance his shooting skills at the start of the game, it’s likely you’ve led him to the archery range situated west of Tachov. Yet, upon arrival, Henry will learn from the wife of the gamekeeper that her husband has been absent for several days.

Following a tip-off from Vitek, the gamekeeper’s disrespectful son, our protagonist discovers the lost Vostatek perched in a tree, seeking safety from a group of enraged wolves. However, trouble doesn’t cease once the wolves are dealt with, as Henry is compelled to transport the intoxicated gamekeeper to his camp, only to discover that his horse, Pepik, has been swiped. As the story unfolds, you’ll encounter a decision: either to stealthily recover the horse from thieves or attempt to eliminate them all. Regardless of your choice, Vostatek will eventually be returned to his overjoyed wife once Pepik is rescued.

In Vino Veritas

Kuttenberg – Kuttenberg City

In the bustling city of Kuttenberg, there are plenty of diversions to keep Henry engaged for lengthy periods, but among the initial side-quests he encounters, one stands out as particularly engaging. A recent vineyard proprietor named Casper produces wine that’s unfortunately poor in quality. Seeing an opportunity, Henry decides to assist Casper in investigating the rival vineyard run by monks.

To reach his destination, Henry must embark on a complex series of tasks: First, he needs to locate Casper’s wine journal from Adleta, who was involved with Casper in the past. Second, he could either pass Havel’s wine tasting test (to impress him) or steal Havel’s ledger (as an alternative). Lastly, he intends to find a job at the vineyard under false pretenses so he can sneak around. This intricate sequence of events is engaging to experience, but despite all the effort, it’s uncertain that Casper will improve his winemaking skills in the end.

Forbidden Fruit

Trosky – Lower Semine

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry will be presented with an option to win over either the blacksmith or the miller (or possibly both), as a means to attend the significant Semine wedding. Picking Kreyzl, the miller, could lead Henry into the shady underbelly of Lower Semine. After several heists, Henry will eventually uncover the real motives behind Kreyzl’s actions.

In a unique turn of events, Kreyzl aims to craft a golem using flour, but seems to lack a crucial component: saltpetre, a mineral often found near decomposing bodies. To acquire this elusive substance, Henry embarks on a humbling task – working for a day with Trosky’s gravedigger to earn his trust and locate the mass grave. The horse-drawn ride through Trosky with the gravedigger offers tranquility and amusement, filled with intriguing distractions such as puzzling farmer ambushes, identifying the source of tainted pig water supplies, and even an attempt on their lives by an enraged guard dog.

4.

The Magic Arrow

Kuttenberg – Devil’s Den

In the latter part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Devil’s Den serves as a bustling hub for various activities and draws an intriguing crowd. Among them is Pasha, a newly elevated bandit leader who confides in Henry that their late leader amassed power due to a mysterious arrow imbedded in his skull. This arrow miraculously kept the deceased leader alive after being shot.

With power now his own, Pasha persuades Henry to steal the arrow from Sedletz cemetery. Once Henry retrieves the arrow for Pasha, the quirky outlaw requests Henry to ‘consecrate’ him by firing the arrow at him, hoping to emulate the former leader. After some reluctance, Henry is convinced to take the shot, but unlike the previous leader, Pasha does not survive and you must scavenge any rewards from his lifeless body.

3.

Bellatores

Kuttenberg – Bylany

Upon my initial visit to Bylany within Kuttenberg, I happened upon the esteemed Sir Jan Posy of Zimburg, seeking valiant companions to join him in a chase for the marauding Cumans. These miscreants had assaulted the carriage he was guarding and abducted his brother.

If Henry consents, he’ll join Posy for some detective work (CSI), and afterward, they’ll search for the remnants of Zimburg castle, which was once home to Posy (presumably). However, should you decide to fight alongside Posy due to the superior enemy forces, your chances would be higher if you stealthily located Posy’s captured brother first, and then launched a surprise assault from within the castle ruins, making the subsequent battle more manageable.

2.

Bad Blood

Trosky – Bohzena’s Hut

In the thrilling start of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one of the first kind-hearted characters you encounter is Bohzena, a herbalist. As time passes and you navigate through the initial stages, you have an opportunity to settle past due accounts with Bohzena. However, upon clearing your debts, you discover that her daughter, Pavlena, has gone missing.

It seems that Pavlena had entered into a relationship with a local Roman from Troskowitz, but during a picnic they attended together, they were both attacked by farmhand Ota and his dog. Unfortunately, the efforts to save Roman proved futile as he didn’t make it through the ordeal. However, you are tasked with locating Ota and the kidnapped Pavlena. Once found, you can negotiate with Ota to release Pavlena, but be aware that she isn’t inclined to show mercy upon learning of your deal with Ota. In fact, as soon as his back is turned, she takes advantage by attacking him violently with his own sword.

1.

Troubadours

Trosky – Upper Zhelejov

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are numerous comedic instances, but the game generally maintains a serious demeanor. However, the Troubadour’s quest line offers a stark contrast, as Henry assists the self-important bards, Michael and George, on their journey to fame.

In this scenario, Henry takes a lute for them, gets Vostatek to mend its strings with sheep intestines, and later repays their debts at the Zhelejov tavern – a place they had been lounging in while Henry was scurrying around for them. But don’t fret, because instead of cash, he receives an endearing (and often overlooked) performance extolling the virtues of dependable Henry once the job is done.
