Gliding above the breathtaking New York City skyline in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 offers an unrivaled adventure. The sequel has refined movement and exploration, making Manhattan seem livelier than ever before. Unfortunately, some players tend to focus solely on the intense, action-filled campaign missions, overlooking this captivating aspect.
Consequently, many aspects of the open-world gameplay and additional activities are often left undone. This brings forth a significant query – when should one take time to discover the city? The following guide intends to provide an answer for this very question.
Caution: A few minor plot points may be hinted at as we discuss optimal moments for engaging in additional gameplay elements.
Why Should You Explore Later In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players can explore the game’s open world from the beginning, but several crucial powers are initially unavailable. As a result, players must tackle challenges with a restricted set of skills, which makes some tasks harder than necessary.
To maximize your enjoyment, consider waiting to delve into exploration for a short period, until you’ve amassed several skill points, abilities, and crucial tools. This way, you’ll be better equipped for the challenges ahead.
When Should You Explore In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
A great moment to dive into “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” would be around the midpoint of its main storyline. After finishing the mission called “Good Men” and obtaining the Black Suit, you’ll be granted new skills that will make side quests more manageable (and enjoyable). Although you won’t have all the upgrades yet, you’ll possess enough tools to easily conquer most open-world challenges.
If you’re interested in exploring Peter’s edgier persona, much like in Spider-Man 3, consider waiting until after the “It Chose You” quest, which is only a few missions ahead. Completing this mission will give you the Symbiote Suit, making Peter more combative and hostile. While it’s not mandatory to wait for this mission, doing so can add an entertaining twist to your side activities with the less friendly Parker.
Remember that once you finish the “Set Things Right” mission, you’ll no longer have access to the Symbiote Suit. If you’d like to traverse New York alongside an upset Parker, make sure to do it before moving forward beyond this quest.
