I’ve always been fascinated by vampires, and it’s no surprise they show up in so many games! What’s really cool is that because there aren’t really any hard rules about what vampires are, game creators can do almost anything with them. You get everything from sophisticated, almost romantic vampires to just straight-up terrifying monsters, and honestly, there’s a fanbase for every take on them. Whether it’s a spooky horror game or something else entirely, and whether you are the vampire or hunting them, getting lost in that dark, gothic world with all its history and creatures is just incredibly appealing. It’s hard to resist!
Recent years haven’t been great for video game fans of vampires, with much-hyped games like Redfall and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 failing to impress. However, 2026 is looking bright, with several promising titles on the horizon – including The Duskbloods, Code Vein 2, Vampire Crawlers, and The Blood of the Dawnwalker. These games all seem to offer unique and captivating experiences. Before these new releases arrive and hopefully revitalize the genre, let’s take a look back at some of the best vampire games from the last ten years (2015 onward), and what made them special.

Despite not being particularly original, Code Vein compensates with smooth fighting, diverse character builds, challenging bosses, and special vampire powers to unlock – all within a compelling, story-driven post-apocalyptic setting.
Although Code Vein didn’t immediately become a huge success when it first came out, it has since gained a strong reputation among fans of challenging action games, leading to the announcement of Code Vein 2. Currently, it’s one of the most eagerly awaited soulslike games planned for 2026, and it promises to build on everything players loved about the first game. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype!
6. El Paso, Elsewhere
Visceral Vampire Action Many Fans Probably Missed

Though not widely known, El Paso, Elsewhere is a game that both vampire and action fans should check out. It’s a shorter, but impactful, third-person shooter with a cool neo-noir look. Think of it as a surprisingly gripping and bloody B-movie – the kind you stay up all night watching – but with a surprisingly thoughtful and emotional story.
In the action game El Paso, Elsewhere, players take on the role of a hunter battling vampires, werewolves, fallen angels, and other monsters within a bizarre, ever-changing motel in Texas. Armed with a variety of weapons – including holy Molotov cocktails – and the ability to slow down time, the hunter James must fight to survive. Though the premise isn’t groundbreaking, El Paso, Elsewhere is a fun and exciting experience for fans of vampire action games.
5. Vampyr
Boasting Some Really High Highs Amid Numerous Missteps

While not perfect, Vampyr is a noteworthy game that successfully puts players in the role of a conflicted vampire. It vividly portrays the constant craving for blood and the daily challenges of maintaining a semblance of humanity. The game’s strongest points are its characters, setting, and atmosphere. Vampyr takes place in a realistically designed, semi-open-world London in 1918, a city ravaged by the Spanish Flu, and is populated with memorable characters, each living their own complicated lives.
Playing as Jonathan Reid, a doctor forced to decide who lives and who dies, is seriously gripping – it really pulls you in. But honestly, the game can feel pretty slow at times, and the combat isn’t amazing, which makes getting to the good stuff in Vampyr a bit of a slog.
4. Vampire Survivors
Elegant, Simple, and Addicting Fun

While Vampire Survivors is incredibly addictive and a fun way to spend a lot of time, its vampire theme isn’t very strong. It’s lacking in things like a compelling story, diverse gameplay, and memorable characters.
Despite its simplicity, Vampire Survivors is incredibly enjoyable. The fast-paced, roguelike gameplay is immediately addictive, offering tons of different characters, ways to build your power, and things to discover. Plus, the retro pixel art, numerous maps with unique atmospheres, and catchy music make battling endless waves of creatures a delightfully chaotic experience.
3. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

It’s been over ten years since a new Castlevania game was released, but fans can find a fantastic experience in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. If you loved Symphony of the Night, you’ll definitely want to play this one! Ritual of the Night is beautiful, challenging but fair, and consistently fun—a perfect exploration-focused vampire game with the dark gothic fantasy style of Koji Igarashi.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a top-tier vampire game released in recent years, boasting a huge amount of content, including downloadable extras. It offers diverse characters and ways to play, a deep combat system with plenty of weapons and spells to unlock, beautifully detailed gothic settings, and a captivating story brought to life with cutscenes and fully voiced characters.
2. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

While technically an expansion to The Witcher 3, Blood and Wine is remarkably good – it’s better than most standalone vampire games. It offers a completely new story with fresh characters, all set in a stunning, separate region. You can easily spend dozens of hours exploring, uncovering secrets, enjoying action-packed combat, and making choices that truly matter.
In The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine, vampires are the main focus. Geralt encounters many different powerful vampires while investigating a series of gruesome murders in the city of Beauclair. Throughout his investigation, he explores locations like caves and ancient tombs, uses special vampiric weapons and armor, and battles various monster-like vampires – including unique creatures called Alps, Bruxae, and Fleders – each with their own distinct appearances, abilities, and behaviors. The expansion also features incredibly epic and unforgettable boss battles against these powerful vampires.

Players can also build and customize their own impressive vampire castle, and even create an army of undead. V Rising offers everything you could want in a vampire game.
In V Rising, you’ll experience a unique cycle of surviving the day and dominating the night. You’ll need to avoid the sun to stay alive, but become a powerful force when darkness falls. The game combines survival elements with thrilling action combat, offering a variety of weapons and abilities. Plus, you can team up with friends in co-op and compete against other players in a shared world. V Rising truly captures the vampire fantasy and is designed to keep players engaged for hours on end.
