Vendetta is a really enjoyable character, and she shines even more in Overwatch Stadium mode. The mode gives her powerful abilities that enhance how she can be played, giving players more ways to have fun with her. While any playstyle can work well with Vendetta, if you’re looking for something straightforward and easy to learn, here’s an Overwatch Stadium build that focuses on dealing big damage and quickly escaping to safety.
Best Vendetta Stadium Build for Overwatch
This AP Vendetta build focuses on quickly eliminating enemies using a powerful combination of abilities. It starts with a high-damage Overloaded Strike, followed by Projected Edge to finish them off. Whirlwind Dash then allows for either a quick escape or continued pursuit, effectively making Vendetta a hit-and-run assassin. Here’s how to build it:
Build Code: GKJFX
Powers
- Overhead Strike: Lets you use an enhanced level 1 charge of Sundering Blade, Vendetta’s Ultimate, after you use Soaring Slice to leap into the air. Hold your primary attack button after using Soaring Slice to charge Sundering Blade.
- Double Dash: You can cast Whirlwind Dash again for free after using Whirlwind Dash once. The free cast deals less damage, which is fine since we’re only going to use this as a chase/escape tool.
- Riposte: Blocking ranged attacks removes the movement speed penalty of Warding Stance and causes Vendetta’s next attack to be an Overhead Strike. This is great for finishing off low-health enemies, and the extra forward momentum from Overhead Strike lets you chase targets a little bit better.
- Skycut: Blocking ranged damage makes your next Overhead Strike launch a Projected Edge that deals half damage. This synergizes well with Riposte, giving you an additional opportunity to launch Projected Edge without consuming Warding Stance energy.
Okay, so I just figured out something cool! If you swap out Skycut for Exalted Empress, you actually get extra Overhealth whenever you land a hit with Sundering Blade. It’s a nice little boost, and I’m definitely going to try it out!
This attack combination is straightforward: start by using Soaring Slice to jump into the air, then charge up Sundering Slice. If your opponent is still standing, finish them with Projected Edge. Use Whirlwind Dash to either escape danger or pursue enemies that are just out of reach of Projected Edge.
Core Items
Because this build focuses on playing Vendetta as a high-damage assassin, we’ll prioritize dealing a lot of damage quickly instead of building defenses. Here are the key items we’ll use to achieve that:
- Chimera Cross: Gain 10% AP. Blocking damage increases your AP by 15% for 5 seconds. Synergizes well with Riposte and Skycut.
- Champion’s Kit: Gain 35% AP
- Multi-tool: Gain 10% AP and 5% Cooldown Reduction
At the beginning of the game, focus on building Ability Points until you can purchase key items. If the enemy team has heroes who deal a lot of damage, such as Sojourn, it’s also a good idea to get items that help you stay alive.
Flex Items
The previous items are essential for your build, but the following should be chosen depending on who you’re fighting.
- Cybervenom: Dealing damage applies 30% Healing Reduction. Use this if the enemy is loaded with healers or other healing effects.
- Lumerico Fusion Drive: Using an ability or gadget restores 50 Armor or Shields over 3 seconds. Get this if you’re having trouble escaping.
- Liquid Nitrogen: Ability damage slows enemies.
- Feathered Soles: Activate this gadget to gain 25% Movement Speed for 5 seconds. This works with the Movement Speed penalty removal on Riposte, letting you run away even faster while blocking.
This will help you make Vendetta a top-performing damage dealer in Overwatch. Just remember to prioritize attacking the enemy’s damage and support players, as Vendetta struggles against tanks.
If your Ultimate is ready, you can land three consecutive Sundering Blade attacks by starting with Soaring Slice and Whirlwind Dash, then using your Ultimate, and finishing with another Soaring Slice.
