Best Vinquibus Ranged & Melee Builds in Warframe

The Vinquibus is a unique weapon in Warframe – it’s the first to combine a rifle and bayonet into a single item that takes up both your primary and melee weapon slots. While it’s not the most powerful weapon available, it’s enjoyable to play with and surprisingly effective, even against tougher enemies in the Steel Path.

This guide provides everything you need to know about this weapon in Warframe, including how to acquire it, where to find its stance mod, and an explanation of its unique abilities. We’ll also cover some effective builds to help you maximize its potential.

How to Get the Vinquibus in Warframe

To build the Vinquibus, you can earn parts by playing the Descendia mission, unlocked after finishing “The Old Peace” quest in the Dark Rerfractory. Or, you can buy Vinquibus components directly from Roathe in La Cathedrale, Sanctum Anatomica, using Maphica – a currency obtained from Descendia runs. Higher-level Vinquibus parts also drop after completing the 21st Infernum.

How to Get Vinquibus Stance Mod (Harrowing Spire)

Similar to the Vinquibus, the Harrowing Spire mod for melee weapons can be found while playing Descendia missions. Completing an Infernum or destroying containers during these missions gives you a chance to earn Harrowing Spire, or the parts needed to create Uriel.

Okay, so this fighting style is awesome for launching enemies! Seriously, the heavy attack, and even just blocking while standing or running, always sends them flying. And get this – any attack where I use the gun part of the weapon still counts as melee damage, which is pretty sweet for building up combos.

Vinquibus Passive Effects

The Vinquibus is a unique weapon that takes up both your melee and main weapon slots. Luckily, it also has two helpful passive abilities.

  • Vinquibus Precision (Primary): Whenever you hit a headshot, Vinquibus will gain +250% Melee Damage for its next two melee attacks, stacking up to 16 attacks.
  • Vinquibus Ferocity (Melee): Scoring a melee kill with Vinquibus grants the weapon 100% Rifle Ammo Efficiency for its next four shots, stacking up to 16 shots.

The Vinquibus is a powerful, independent weapon thanks to its unique design. Its rifle and bayonet functions work together – using one strengthens the other. To maximize its effectiveness, you’ll need to switch frequently between shooting and stabbing.

Changes like adding Polarization, unlocking the Exilus slot, or installing a Lens on the Vinquibus affect both its main weapon and melee weapon modification slots.

Best Warframe Vinquibus Builds

The Vinquibus is a well-rounded weapon with solid stats. It has a high 40% base critical hit chance and a moderate 20% status chance whether you’re using it as a rifle or in melee. While it performs best with builds focused on critical hits, it can also be effective with builds that prioritize inflicting status effects.

Best Vinquibus Rifle Builds

Acuity Build Galvanized Scope Bladed Rounds Primary Acuity Semi-Rifle Cannonade Critical Delay Vital Sense 2x 60/60 Elemental Status Mods Primary Deadhead
Multishot Build Galvanized Scope Galvanized Chamber Galvanized Aptitude Vital Sense Shred 3x 60/60 Elemental/Status mods Primary Merciless

This Acuity build focuses entirely on the Vinquibus rifle’s potential as a highly accurate weapon. It’s designed to deal massive damage to enemy weak points, but requires good timing and potentially a Warframe with strong crowd control abilities, like Oraxia or Frost, to maximize its effectiveness. The build consistently achieves powerful critical hits thanks to the combination of Critical Delay and Semi-Rifle Cannonade, which maintains fire rate. However, consistently hitting those weak spots is crucial to getting the most out of the Primary Acuity mod.

The Multishot Build focuses on ease of use. While it doesn’t deal as much damage as the Acuity build, it’s effective even without precise headshots. Simply fire continuously at your enemies to defeat them.

If you’re a newer Warframe player who doesn’t have access to these mods just yet, use the following:

  • Serration
  • Point Strike/Argon Scope
  • Vital Sense
  • Split Chamber
  • Shred
  • Elemental mods of choice

This is a more affordable version of the Multishot build, and it’s perfectly capable of completing the Star Chart.

Best Vinquibus Melee Builds

Crit Build Condition Overload Galvanized Elementalist Galvanized Steel Berserker Fury/Primed Fury Blood Rush Organ Shatter 2x 60/60 Elemental mods Melee Afflictions/Exposure Tennokai mod (optional)
Duplicate Build Galvanized Steel Galvanized Elementalist Condition Overload Primed Fury/Berserker Fury Weeping Wounds 2x 60/60 Elemental mods Melee Duplicate Tennokai mod (optional)

The Vinquibus weapon is a strong choice for builds focused on critical hits, thanks to its 40% base critical chance. It works particularly well with melee-focused Warframes like Kullervo and Valkyr, but is still effective on other frames, including Uriel. Here are two Arcane options to consider for this build:

  • Melee Afflictions takes advantage VInquibus’ innate knockback procs, letting it add more status effect stacks on enemies that are already suffering from them.
  • Melee Exposure adds Corrosive Damage to your base damage when you cast an ability. Works best with caster Warframes or anyone who spams abilities like Uriel and Volt.

While Vinquibus is still good for builds that focus on inflicting status effects, it doesn’t apply them as fast as some other weapons. The ‘Melee Duplicate’ ability helps with this by taking advantage of Vinquibus’ high critical hit chance. When the weapon lands a normal critical hit (shown as yellow damage numbers), it strikes the enemy twice. This gives you a chance to apply two status effects with a single hit, instead of just one.

Okay, so you can absolutely build Vinquibus with Melee Influence! Basically, take a standard Melee Duplicate build, but swap out the elemental mods and Arcane slots for Electricity and Melee Influence instead. It’ll take a little while to get going because Vinquibus doesn’t have a super high status chance, but once those procs start hitting, everything will be getting shocked – it’s awesome!

If you haven’t gotten Galvanized mods yet, focus on mods that boost your critical hit chance or base damage, such as Pressure Point and True Steel. However, remember that you’ll struggle to perform well in the Steel Path without Galvanized mods.
