Summary
- Quality impacts weapon damage: Plastanium Tier guns pack a punch.
- Regis Disruptor Pistol is the PvP weapon of choice: It can crush shields.
- Ranged weapons like Tripleshot Rifle offer versatility and a poison effect.
In the game Dune: Awakening, weapons exhibit a range of forms and categories. However, they all have one defining feature in common: The superior their quality, the more potent the harm they inflict. Yet, even among top-tier weapons, there are exceptional guns and blades, as well as those that aren’t worth investing time or resources into crafting or purchasing.
In the sprawling sands of Dune: Awakening, I’ve compiled a rundown of the top arsenals at a gamer’s disposal. Each weapon is meticulously examined, revealing its unique traits, advantages, disadvantages, and optimal strategies for wielding these lethal instruments in battle.
1. A Dart For Every Man
Best SMG In The Game

- Pros: High Damage, Disrupts Shield
- Cons: Low Ammo Efficiency
An individualized SMG, referred to as a Dart, boasts the Disruption attribute, making it exceptionally effective at piercing through the strongest Holtzman Shields. It has the highest damage output among all SMGs in the game, can hold up to 48 projectiles, and fires them at an astounding rate of 600 rounds per minute. In Dune: Awakening, this weapon unleashes a barrage of projectiles faster than anything else.
Unfortunately, despite boasting exceptional qualities and quick recharge times, it’s clear that it consumes ammunition at an alarming rate. This necessitates players to haul a substantial amount of Darts, which in turn adds some weight to their loadout. However, being its sole disadvantage, this weapon remains the pinnacle of gameplay effectiveness, both in PvP and PvE scenarios. Players can acquire its blueprint from the Deep Desert Points of Interest, provided they manage to survive long enough to transport it back to their base.
2. The Ancient Way
The Most Powerful Weapon For Destroying Vehicles

- Pros: Highest Damage Output, Destroys Vehicles
- Cons: Slow Recharge, Bulky, Slows down movement
In the Deep Desert, one of the designs uncovered is an improved variant called The Ancient Way, based on the basic Plasteel Rocket Launcher design. This enhanced version deals greater damage (up to 918 per rocket) and can destroy vehicles with a single shot. Its increased blast radius makes it highly destructive, and it maintains an effective range of up to 150 meters. As such, it is one of the deadliest weapons to catch a Clan off guard during their mining activities.
“This rocket launcher is extremely powerful, causing fear among Deep Desert scouts and prompting calls for it to be weakened. However, keep in mind that using this weapon from a high vantage point makes you a prominent target for opponents with exceptional mobility. To avoid unexpected attacks, consider investing in the Underslung Agility perk.
3. Regis Disruptor Pistol
Aim To The Head And It’s Game Over For Them
- Pros: High Damage, Disrupts Shield
- Cons: Slow Charge, Hard to Master
As a devoted fan, I’d enthusiastically affirm that the peak quality of the Disruptor Pistol line lies within the Regis Disruptor Pistol. This masterfully crafted weapon is engineered to shatter the defensive barriers of formidable PvE adversaries and fully geared Tier 7 players. A single precision shot to the head with this marvelous piece can instantly dismantle any Holtzman generator, while in PvE, it possesses the power to instantly annihilate enemies on the spot. In the realm of PvP, while its effectiveness has been scaled back, it remains a potent threat to the unguarded.
The disadvantage lies in its charging mechanism that initiates by pressing and holding the fire button. Although this feature allows players enough time to aim, it can be problematic in critical situations if not mastered. In a game heavily focused on melee combat and featuring numerous overpowered Swordmaster builds, the Disruptor Pistol may seem more like a toy than a powerful weapon. However, it is the epitome of compact firearms: It fires Heavy Darts, deals significant damage, and offers high precision. It’s an excellent choice for Mentat builds that utilize Marksman perks.
4. Fivefinger’s Tripleshot Rifle
A Beast Of A Rifle That Causes Poison
- Pros: High Precision Damage, Poisons Foes
- Cons: Hard to Control
The Fivefinger’s Tripleshot Rifle and its Tier 7 variant, the Regis Tripleshot Repeating Rifle, are top-tier weapons when it comes to dealing long-range damage. This gun has a unique shot that discharges a swift succession of three shots in a tightly grouped pattern. When precisely aimed at an opponent’s head, this weapon is devastatingly effective, and to add to its lethality, it inflicts poison.
As a gamer, I’ve found this weapon a bit tricky to handle at first, especially when it comes to long-range targeting. But stick with it, and you’ll soon find yourself making precision takedowns that other weapons can’t match. It may not have the reach of a Sniper rifle, but its versatility is second to none, and in PvP, it’s harder for opponents to counter than the JABAAL Spitdart.
5. Starburst
One Shots Nearly Anything
- Pros: Highest Damage, Burns Foes
- Cons: Spends Too Much Ammo
The Starburst is a potent surprise attack weapon, capable of delivering six powerful shots, charring foes, and igniting them in flames. It also boasts impressive shield penetration. This weapon has the ability to instantly vanquish any enemy, provided they can’t react quickly enough to raise their defenses.
In PvP scenarios, wielding this weapon can be nerve-wracking due to its tendency to summon sandworms in zones where they’re most active – zones often bustling with enemy guild activities. It’s like diving headfirst into a hornet’s nest! On the flip side, it’s quite the ammo hog, devouring 36 Light Darts per magazine. So, stockpiling ammunition is a must for any player who wants to keep this weapon at the ready.
6. Black Market K-28 Lasgun
Powerful But Has A Catch
- Pros: Incredible Damage, Penetrates shields
- Cons: Leaves players vulnerable and reduces mobility
The K-28 Lasgun from the Black Market, a colossal heavy firearm, deals energy damage that pierces through shields, defenses, and obliterates targets within its modest range. A soldier wielding this weapon is an indomitable force. However, it’s important to note that using this gun drains all energy from players’ generators for each shot, effectively rendering their Holtzman Shields inoperable.
In other words, this weapon configuration ensures an unlimited supply of ammunition, which is crucial for Player versus Player encounters, especially when players are using cover (such as the Mentat’s Shield Wall) and benefiting from the Mentat’s Source of Power. This combo can swiftly eliminate entire enemy camps in just a few seconds.
7. Scorchbolt
Burn The World
- Pros: Burns Foes, Penetrates Shields
- Cons: Heavy, Requires Special Ammo
The Scorchbolt is a substantial flamethrower that integrates seamlessly with the Trooper’s gear, and is enhanced by its abilities to the extent that it becomes a potentially dangerous adversary. However, it has drawbacks such as limited range and mobility; the gun emits flames at a reasonable distance, making it cumbersome for the user to handle effectively.
This weapon is beneficial because it can pass through energy barriers, and it will cause melee attackers to burn up like insects when they get too close to players using it. It’s particularly effective in PvP situations, especially in Wrecks where the confined spaces lead to intense battles over resources. Players had better stay focused when an opponent wielding this gun enters a PvP zone, or else they may regret their carelessness.
8. Abulurd’s Rapture
A Great SMG That Uses Heavy Darts
- Pros: Best Precision Burst, Great At Short Range
- Cons: Slower than most SMGs
This SMG stands out due to its unique firing mechanism that uses pairs of Heavy Darts instead of continuous Light Darts. These Heavy Darts can penetrate shields deeply and deal significant precision damage in close quarters. It’s an ideal choice for players focusing on precision shooting, particularly at the enemy’s head.
With the Tier 7 Upgrade, Abulurd’s Ecstasy deals greater harm and boasts a larger ammunition capacity. However, its main drawback is dealing only modest damage to an enemy’s body. Yet, this won’t pose an issue for players who have mastered both Mentat and Trooper skills and their associated passives.
9. Regis Burst Drillshot
Best Shield Disruptor Shotgun
- Pros: Penetrates Shields, Causes Impressive Damage
- Cons: Slow To Charge/Recharge
As a gamer, I wield this formidable shotgun that unleashes a pair of piercing bolts capable of shattering shields after a brief delay. Just like with the Disruptor Pistol, I have to keep the button pressed and poof! Enemies vanish. The magazine can accommodate four Heavy Darts, which translates into two shots per recharge – a bit frustrating, I must say.
As a devoted player, I must admit that the reload animation on this gun is the sole aspect holding it back from being my number one pick. However, its destructive power far surpasses what its statistics suggest. In PvP, users will quickly realize that a single shot can fell an enemy, making it appear as if they’re cheating. But let me clarify, this isn’t a bug or an unfair advantage – it’s the weapon’s ingenious design. It pierces Holtzman Shields with ease and then fragments into shrapnel, annihilating nearby enemies as well.
10. Bashar’s Command
Best Gatling Gun In The Game
- Pros: High Damage, Good AoE coverage
- Cons: Slow To Recharge, reduces mobility
New users of this weapon should be cautious, as it consumes around 4000 Light Darts in just a few minutes due to its rapid-fire capability. It not only shoots extremely fast but also inflicts significant damage over a broad area and leaves enemies disoriented with its continuous barrage.
If you’re using this weapon for the first time, be prepared to use about 4000 Light Darts in a short amount of time because it fires very quickly and can cause a lot of damage in a large area. It also makes enemies confused with its continuous shooting.
A superior choice for player-versus-player combat is a revamped VULCAN gatling gun, featuring not only rapid-fire bullets but also inflicting fire damage similar to a flamethrower. It pierces through shields and eliminates foes before they can approach the user. However, it should be noted that this weapon has one of the longest reload times in the game. Yet, this drawback is insignificant when equipped by a Trooper under the influence of Spice, as they can swiftly replenish their ammo after discharging a full clip.
