I’m not afraid to admit my love for the Xbox Series X/S.
I really love this console, especially because of the huge library of games on Game Pass – although the recent price increase is definitely a downside for a lot of people. Plus, the Quick Resume feature is probably my all-time favorite thing about any console!
A common complaint about the Xbox Series X/S is the lack of compelling games. While Microsoft is intentionally moving away from traditional exclusive titles, it’s simply not accurate to say there aren’t any good games available on Xbox.
There are tons of fantastic games for the Xbox Series X/S – from big-name titles to smaller indie gems – and that’s why I always find myself returning to my Xbox for more.
10. Ball x Pit
One Of 2025’s Surprise Hits

Wow, 2025 has been packed with amazing games, but I’m a little worried everyone is starting to forget about Ball x Pit. It was a huge deal when it came out, and I really don’t want it to fade away!
I usually don’t love games that try to combine many different genres, and Ball x Pit does that with roguelikes and base building. But despite my initial skepticism – and even though others seemed more enthusiastic – I find myself constantly returning to it.
The real benefit of Xbox Game Pass is the chance to find amazing indie games, like Ball x Pit. These games are so engaging – you’ll find yourself saying ‘just one more try’ and then spending hours planning and perfecting your strategy. It’s incredibly addictive!
9. Diablo 4
Still Going Strong
Diablo 4 is a game you can easily spend hundreds of hours playing without ever fully deciding if it’s truly great. It’s the kind of experience that keeps you playing even while you’re questioning its quality.
No matter what you think about the game right now – and there are valid points to be made about its flaws – if you’re putting in a lot of time playing, you’re probably enjoying yourself most of the time.
What makes Diablo 4 great is its consistent appeal. It’s not flawless, but it’s reliably enjoyable, whether you’re playing solo or with others. The core gameplay – that familiar, satisfying ARPG experience – remains strong, and regular updates keep players engaged and coming back for more.
8. Sea of Thieves
Ahoy!
Since its launch in 2018, Sea of Thieves has consistently released new content with each seasonal update.
Sea of Thieves might not have made huge waves when it first came out, but it’s consistently been popular with players. Thanks to ongoing support from Microsoft and Rare, it’s steadily gained a dedicated following.
Sea of Thieves might not be the first Xbox game that comes to mind, but it’s a fantastic experience, especially with friends. The gameplay is consistently fun, and with Microsoft and Rare now fully supporting it, Sea of Thieves is becoming a live service game you can enjoy for a long time.
7. Hitman: World of Assassination
Agent 47
Hitman games are known for letting you complete missions in many different ways. Whether you prefer a quick and efficient approach, a creative solution, or trying to achieve everything the game offers, there’s a lot of replay value.
IO Interactive, the game’s developer, has consistently kept the experience engaging through regular content updates. Perhaps this ongoing support is the key to the game’s lasting appeal, giving players a reason to return and continue playing even after all this time.
Okay, I have to say, this new Hitman update with the Eminem vs. Slim Shady thing totally blew me away! I was not expecting it to be so good. It’s still the Hitman I love – the same great gameplay – but adding in that whole pop culture angle with Eminem is just brilliant and really grabs your attention. And because the game lets you be so creative with how you approach missions, it’s seriously addictive. I keep finding myself jumping back in to try new things!
6. Cyberpunk 2077
Good Morning Night City
Despite the problems Cyberpunk 2077 had at launch, it was clear the game had potential. It showed signs of being the large, immersive open-world RPG fans were hoping for, filled with endless side quests, interesting characters, and compelling stories.
The game definitely had a rough start, to say the least, but players were ultimately drawn in by what it could become.
Five years after its release, we’re still captivated by Night City. CD Projekt Red truly delivered on the promise of Cyberpunk 2077, and the game is packed with content. Whenever we try something new, we inevitably find ourselves drawn back to Night City, and it’s a call we happily answer.
5. Hades 2
An Even Better Sequel
Hades was already highly replayable, offering players tons of reasons to keep coming back with its roguelike elements, diverse weapons, and exciting battles.
Hades 2 isn’t just a sequel – it’s potentially the best roguelike game ever created. It significantly improves on the already fantastic original in every way, from the fast-paced combat and clever level design to the compelling characters. Unlike many sequels that lose what made the first game special, Hades 2 builds upon the original’s strengths, retaining its core identity while delivering an even better experience.
Hades 2 is a fantastic game that would likely win Game of the Year in most years. However, 2025 has seen an exceptionally strong lineup of releases, making it a tough competitor.
4. Halo: Master Chief Collection
Reliving The Glory Years
Let’s be real, it’s Halo. For longtime fans like myself, that says everything. I realize many players today didn’t grow up with the game, spending all their free time playing it back in college. So, let me explain what makes it special.
As a big fan of the original GoldenEye 007, which is still enjoyable now, especially on Xbox, I believe nothing will ever surpass Halo as a console shooter. The Halo campaign remains incredibly fun to play, solo or with a friend, even years later. That might be why the upcoming remake is focusing only on the campaign.
Halo truly stands out because of its amazing multiplayer. It offered a fun and generally fair experience with a lot of variety, and the levels were brilliantly designed. You really had to experience it back then, but luckily, the Master Chief Collection lets us all revisit those classic Halo moments. It doesn’t quite recreate the all-nighters fueled by energy drinks, but it’s the next best thing!
3. ARC Raiders
One Of The Best Extraction Shooters
Extraction shooters are incredibly popular right now, but ARC Raiders stands out by perfectly combining thrilling suspense, engaging gameplay, and a truly immersive experience.
ARC Raiders delivers a well-made shooting experience with enjoyable core gameplay. However, the most engaging and lasting part of the game comes from cooperating and interacting with other players.
ARC Raiders isn’t your typical ‘shoot and loot’ game where you just endlessly shoot enemies for better gear. It’s all about teamwork, exploring a dangerous world, and deciding whether to approach others peacefully or take what they have by force. It’s a thrilling, engaging, and rewarding experience that stands out as one of the best multiplayer games of the year and deserves more attention from awards shows.
2. Oblivion Remastered
A Perfected Masterpiece
The issue with revisiting Oblivion isn’t a lack of new experiences. In fact, it consistently delivers them – that’s one of the great things about open world role-playing games.
The real issue with Oblivion wasn’t its age, but how glitchy it could be. While those quirks are part of what people love about the game, constantly running into the same bugs became frustrating. Thankfully, Oblivion Remastered seems to fix a lot of those problems.
Bethesda and Virtuos did a great job finding the right mix of improvements and keeping the original feel of the game. While there are a few things I’d still like to see changed, especially with how characters level up, this is still the classic Oblivion we all know and love—a game that’s always worth revisiting. And now, with Oblivion Remastered, it’s even more accessible and enjoyable than ever before.
1. Elden Ring
Game Of The Decade?
Elden Ring is so vast and detailed that you could play for hundreds of hours and still not experience all it has to offer.
It’s hard to believe anyone could experience everything Elden Ring has to offer in a single playthrough. The game is packed with interesting locations, enemies, bosses, and hidden secrets, meaning its replay value is incredibly high, even if you somehow manage to see it all the first time around.
However, completing the game with just one character setup doesn’t capture the full experience. Elden Ring offers a huge variety of ways to play, with countless different builds and strategies. Switching things up feels like starting a fresh adventure, even after many hours of gameplay. This is what makes it incredibly replayable, and one of the best games on Xbox Series X/S for those who love to revisit their favorites.
