Bethesda Is Finally Adding Pets To Fallout 76

As a dedicated Fallout 76 player with countless hours spent roaming the Appalachian wasteland, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and disbelief at the announcement of pets coming to our C.A.M.P.s! It’s been a long wait, and while taming creatures has been fun, it hasn’t quite scratched that pet-owning itch.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Bethesda Game Studios dedicated part of the Xbox presentation to discussing Fallout 76. They acknowledged the game’s success in the region and showcased some impressive C.A.M.P. constructions before Jon Rush, the creative director, revealed that they are adding pets to the game for the first time.

At last, this new feature allows gamers to bring adorable pets such as cats and dogs to their campsites, where they can engage in typical animal behavior, like lazing about or creating little burrows in the ground.

It Took Them Long Enough

Players of Fallout 76 have eagerly anticipated the ability to keep pets in their C.A.M.P.s for quite some time now. While they’ve had the capacity to tame creatures from all over the Appalachian wasteland, this feature hasn’t provided a substantial gameplay experience thus far.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Bethesda unveiled a sneak peek of upcoming pets for Fallout 76 – I’m talking about furry friends like cats and dogs! They showcased a cozy cat basket and a doghouse that looked just right for man’s best friend. As the demo unfolded, these critters were seen scampering around, engaging with their surroundings, and even letting players customize them to our hearts’ content.

Jon Rush said during the stream:

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all. Animal lovers unite, as beloved companions – cats and dogs – will be joining the world of Fallout 76 towards the end of this year, bringing a new dimension of fun to the game!

It seems likely that they’ll only interact within the C.A.M.P. environment and not accompany players as they explore the West Virginian wasteland, but there’s always a chance that could change in the future.
