Bethesda Mentions Next Starfield DLC For The Third Time But Still Can’t Confirm Details

Fans are almost resigned to their patience running thin as they eagerly await news about the upcoming Starfield expansion, an announcement that’s been conspicuously absent for quite some time now. In July, I delved into the details of the next Starfield DLC, a project that Bethesda Game Studios has hinted at for over a year, but we still lack solid information about its content or release date.

Looks like the grand 2023 space RPG, Starfield, which ignited our gaming world for roughly two whole weeks, might not be delivering on Todd Howard’s promise of a major expansion per year as initially anticipated.

During a recent developer presentation, there was once more a hint about the Starfield expansion, however, unfortunately, as before, they emphasized that no specifics could be disclosed at this time.

Where is Starfield’s Next Expansion?

Prior to the release of Starfield in September 2023, the initial expansion known as Shattered Space had already been described in detail, meaning we had a good idea of its appearance by several months before its launch in September 2024.

Moving on to the present, approximately a year has passed, and we’re still in the dark about what the upcoming expansion might entail.

It appears that despite multiple opportunities, Bethesda Game Studios hasn’t shared any details about the upcoming Starfield expansion yet. This could be an indication of challenges or delays in the development process for the DLC.

During a recent developer interview featuring Tim Lamb, a Bethesda team member since 2006, he shared highlights from his career. Towards the end of the conversation, Lamb offered insights about the future prospects of Starfield.

As it comes to Starfield, I’m really excited for players to see what the team has been working on.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for updates on Starfield since Todd Howard confirmed its expansion was in development back in June 2024. The Bethesda team hinted at some thrilling plans for this year, but unfortunately, they remained tight-lipped about the details until March 2025. Now, as we move towards September 2025, I find myself still craving more information on Starfield’s progress.
