This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
With almost 10 chapters released, fans are excitedly anticipating what’s next for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. The series has been remarkably well-received, especially for introducing compelling new characters like Maru, Cross, and Dabura. Many fans were initially skeptical about JJK Modulo, particularly because it takes place 68 years after the original story and features a largely new cast. However, the series has consistently surprised and impressed them.
After nine chapters, Gege Akutami’s JJK Modulo has completely won over even the biggest critics and is proving to be a huge hit. Fans are loving Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, not because it feels like the original Jujutsu Kaisen, but because it’s a very different experience. Many believe Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is currently the best new manga available, and if it keeps up this quality, it could easily be considered the strongest manga of the recent months.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is The Best New Gen Manga Already
Modulo Has Amazed Fans So Far
- Character arcs feel richer in Modulo
- Jujutsu Kaisen was hectic for Gege Akutami
Weekly Shonen Jump hasn’t had much success with ongoing series lately. Popular titles like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia have both finished their runs, and newer manga, such as Sakamoto Days, have seen their popularity decline as they’ve progressed.
For people from different backgrounds to live together in peace, we need to embrace love for everyone. — Dura to Maru and Cross
I’ve been watching Jump’s newer series, and while both Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch show a lot of promise, neither has really taken off yet. With so much uncertainty around what will be the next big thing in manga, the success of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo felt incredibly important.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has quickly become a standout manga in just nine chapters. It’s brilliantly expanded on the idea of cursed energy, adding a surprising and successful element: aliens. Many fans were worried about this approach after seeing similar attempts fall flat in series like Boruto, but Modulo has pulled it off spectacularly. Currently, it’s arguably the best new manga series available. It’s a shame it’s already been announced as a short manga, as it has the potential to be truly epic.
Dabura, long time no see. How’s your sister doing? Please don’t tell me she’s been captured.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Features Gege’s Best Writing
More Focus On Worldbuilding
While Jujutsu Kaisen was excellent, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo may actually be Gege Akutami’s best work yet. Jujutsu Kaisen excelled at action, but Modulo truly showcases Gege’s talent for developing characters and building a rich world. It’s exciting to see him grow as a writer, and the fact that Modulo surpasses the original Jujutsu Kaisen – which is rare for a sequel – speaks volumes about his skill. This is partly because Gege isn’t illustrating Modulo himself, giving him more time to carefully craft the story. Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action series, and the original manga recently finished in late 2024. You can read it online for free on Manga Plus, where new chapters used to be released every week. Now, a sequel series called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is running in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Chapter 10 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will be available on November 9, 2025, and, like the original, it will be free to read on Manga Plus.
