Biggest Games Releasing This Week You Should Check Out (January 12, 2026)

2026 is already proving to be a great year for gaming, with lots of exciting releases planned. It can be hard to keep up with everything that’s coming out and when, though!

TopMob has highlighted a variety of new games released the week of January 12th, including both big-name titles and interesting independent games.

Biggest Games Releasing January 12-18, 2026

Hytale

After a long wait, the game will become available to play on PC through early access starting January 13th. While it’s still under development, many players are expected to jump in and explore its Minecraft-like world as soon as possible.

Hytale boasts beautiful graphics, with previews revealing diverse environments – from desolate deserts to lush forests – and a wide range of creatures. While it’s unknown exactly how much content will be accessible at launch, the game promises a remarkably deep and lasting experience that will be hard for other games to equal.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Although the game is six years old, this Nintendo Switch 2 edition arrives with a massive 3.0 update. This update includes a large amount of new content, similar to downloadable content, and is available to all players without needing to buy anything extra.

Version 3.0 adds a brand new hotel you can decorate to your liking, plus collectible collaboration items and fresh villagers. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or returning to the game!

Quarantine Zone

Quarantine Zone, launching on PC January 12th, challenges players to manage a checkpoint in a city overrun by zombies. You’ll use high-tech scanners and your own judgment to decide who gets through – and who doesn’t – as you try to keep the outbreak contained.

A single mistake can be devastating, and you’ll need to carefully manage supplies, strengthen your defenses, and maintain your base in this chaotic strategy game.

Cassette Boy

If you’re looking for a fun puzzle game to play, check out Casette Boy! It comes out on January 15th for PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.

Players explore a unique 3D world with retro pixel art by rotating the view. They’ll need to solve the mystery of a missing moon while finding new weapons and gear to help them survive and fight.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW

If you enjoy spooky experiences, BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is worth a look. This first-person horror game delves into how social media can affect mental well-being. The premise is intriguing, and the monsters you’ll face are genuinely frightening.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW launches January 16 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Craftlings

Crafdtlings, a new PC game launching January 15th, takes inspiration from classic 90s titles. Players will be challenged to build and refine automated production lines, making smart strategic choices to succeed.

Craftlings are small helpers you assign tasks to, letting you build and improve your settlement with things like farms and military buildings. But be careful! Exploring new areas and environments always carries some risk and danger.
