As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, the anticipation for this year’s League of Legends World Championship grand final between Bilibili and T1 is palpable. The journey to this point has been nothing short of exhilarating, with the past few weeks seeing some intense battles that have left fans on the edge of their seats.
After two weeks of intense competition, the finalists for the League of Legends World Championship 2024 have been determined. On November 2, live from the O2 Arena in London, Bilibili and T1 will battle it out for the trophy and a grand prize of $445,000.
As a devoted fan, this tournament might just be Faker’s chance to etch his name even further into the annals of esports history by claiming his fifth world championship title, a feat that would undeniably place him among the all-time greats.
Heavy is the Crown
What an incredible ride it’s been to reach this point! The 2021 League of Legends World Championship kicked off on September 25, and we’re almost at the finish line, with only a few days left before everything concludes. On that final day, either Bilibili Gaming will have etched their name on the LoL Worlds trophy for the first time or T1 will have added another fourth title to their championship collection.
Previously, Team Gen.G represented the final hurdle for T1 to advance this far, and swiftly, social media administrators highlighted the exciting matchup between T1’s Faker and Gen.G’s Chovy on various platforms.
In terms of their win-loss records and overall performance, Faker and Chovy have been quite evenly matched. Their head-to-head battles over the years have seen significant shifts. This year, however, Chovy has given Faker a tough time, but when it mattered most at League Worlds, Faker showed determination and managed to outperform Chovy and his team.
In 2022, the pair competed side-by-side during the Asian Games.
As I prepare myself for the upcoming match, there’s only one thing standing between T1, Faker, and their fifth world championship trophy – it’s Bilibili, a team that hasn’t made it past the semi-finals at Worlds yet. None of the players on this all-Chinese squad has ever lifted the League Worlds trophy before, but after a rocky start in the Swiss Stage, they’ve managed to gather some steam and have been tearing through the Knockout Stage. It’s going to be an intense battle!
One series is all it’ll take to decide this year’s champion.
