BioGun leaving early access at the end of July

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for metroidvanias and twin-stick shooters, I’ve played my fair share of games that promise unique experiences. But when it comes to Biogun, developed by Dapper Dog Digital and published by Ravenage Games, I can confidently say that this game stands out from the crowd.

Dapper Dog Digital’s developer and Ravenage Games’ publisher have made an announcement: Biogun will be officially launched on July 31st for personal computers.

The early access version of BioGun on Steam was well-received, but the developers had announced plans for additional side quests and overall improvements. In their press release for the game’s full release, the team shared: “Drawing inspiration from Saturday morning cartoons, BioGun brings together humor and action in a captivating way. Delve into a visually striking world influenced by biology, from the intricacies of the bladder to the rhythmic heartbeats.”

Check out the new date trailer, below:

  • Twin-stick shooter meets metroidvania: Experience a unique combat system that blends exploration with fast-paced shooting.
  • Impactful power-ups: Upgrade your character with chips that grant powerful abilities, but choose wisely – you can only have one active at a time!
  • Engaging world design: Traverse a vast interconnected world inspired by the inner workings of a dog’s body. Complete side missions to aid Cells in need. Explore each organ to earn rewards and learn about the life forms that live there.
  • Traverse a hand-drawn microscopic world full of traditionally animated cells, germs, viruses and bacteria. Meet the wondrous creatures, both friendly and hostile, that inhabit it. Discover the many secrets cleverly hidden in your dog’s body.
  • You will be accompanied on your mission by a blood-pumping score by Juhani Junkala
  • The fate of dog-kind is in your hands!

In our pre-release report, we expressed: “Playing Biogun in its present stage didn’t give me the feeling of an early access game. The engaging combat, impressive enhancements, and high level of refinement made Biogun seem like a must-try for fans of the Metroidvania genre. For those who prefer to wait for the complete anatomical adventure, the release of version 1.0 is reasonable. But if you can’t resist a premium Metroidvania experience and can’t wait any longer, then purchasing Biogun now is strongly advised.”

As a gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen many indie games enter early access on Steam, and I’m always excited to see the progress these developers make. In this particular case, I’ve been following BioGun closely, and I’m thrilled to share that the release date for this intriguing title has now been confirmed: July 31st. It’s an exciting time for the gaming community as we eagerly anticipate the next evolution of this promising game.
