Bizarre New Game from Silent Hill Creator Sets Up Its Story

As a seasoned gamer who has weathered countless storms of fear in the haunting landscapes of Silent Hill, I must say that the new Slitterhead trailer has sent shivers down my spine and stirred the echoes of my gaming past. The prospect of stepping into another masterpiece from Keiichiro Toyama, the man who crafted some of my darkest memories, is a tantalizing one indeed.

Bokeh Game Studios has unveiled a fresh trailer for the upcoming game titled “Slitterhead,” created by the mastermind behind “Silent Hill,” Keiichiro Toyama. With its terrifying atmosphere, “Slitterhead” is one of the most eagerly awaited horror games this year. The game will also include music by Akira Yamaoka, a renowned composer from the “Silent Hill” series, and it promises gruesome monster designs that could easily fit in with Konami’s horror game lineup.

In the Summer Game Fest 2024, the highly anticipated game Slitterhead unveiled a substantial trailer, providing horror enthusiasts with a glimpse of its main gameplay feature – the ability to take control of victims as a mystical entity named Hyoki. Recently, Bokeh Game Studios has released a new cinematic trailer for Slitterhead, concentrating on the game’s narrative and offering glimpses into its themes and characters.

The trailer starts with a somber song playing as it shows off the streets of Kowlong, along with some brief clips of the characters that players will possess as Slitterhead‘s protagonist. This includes a young woman in a red hoodie and a biker that had been prominently shown in Slitterhead‘s previous trailer and box art. Other characters, like a young man wearing glasses, a pair of siblings, and a martial artist were featured in this trailer, as possible possession targets. The trailer then cuts to more action-focused sequences, such as monsters attacking random civilians, another character being arrested by the police, and a vision of a burning city.

Slitterhead’s Cinematic Story Trailer Paints a Silent Picture

In the trailer for Slitterhead, we see how the character-possessing mechanic impacts the story’s people, such as Hyoki bestowing characters with heightened agility and clawed fingers to combat the monsters terrorizing Kowlong. The teaser subtly communicates internal conflicts among the characters without any spoken dialogue or voiceovers. As the trailer concludes, it leaves us in suspense as one of Hyoki’s possessed characters stirs, with the clock mysteriously rewinding to two days prior, hinting at a possible time loop due to possession.

The character or entity known as “Slitterhead” is set to debut just about a month after the release of the remade version of “Silent Hill 2”. This proximity in their launch dates, along with their shared roots in creativity, promises an intriguing conversation among fans. Notably, “Slitterhead” is a fresh intellectual property from one of the original architects behind “Silent Hill”, while the “Silent Hill 2” remake is being developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami.
