In the anime “Black Clover,” there’s a character known as Megicula, who is actually a Supreme Devil. This malevolent being has brought distress upon numerous characters like Noelle Silva and Lolopechka. Megicula currently resides within Vanica Zogratis, biding its time before it can unleash its plans to materialize in the human realm, seeking out powerful mages.

In the Spade Kingdom Raid storyline, Megicula emerges as one of the primary villains. Following Astaroth’s disappearance, she ascends to the role of Supreme Devil within the Underworld. Moreover, after Astaroth’s departure, Megicula assumes control over the Tree of Qliphoth. At birth, all devils are assigned a rank in a hierarchical structure, with higher ranks corresponding to lower positions on the Tree of Qliphoth, implying that those with higher ranks are subordinate to those with lower ones.

As a devoted fan, I’d put it like this: Just like numerous other Devils, Megicula craved access to the human realm. She found her path through a pact with Vanica Zogratis, residing within her and tapping into her power as part of the Devil Host. Seventeen years ago, Megicula took over Vanica’s body following Noelle Silva’s birth. Ever since then, Vanica had been searching for an exceptional adversary to showcase her enhanced abilities against, eventually challenging Acier Silva. In the heat of that battle, Megicula and Vanica cast a Curse-Warding Magic upon Acier, setting the stage for Megicula’s emergence into our world one year after Acier’s demise.

The Evil Goddess’s curse calls for an extensive investment of time and resources. This curse tasks Megicula with scouring the realm for the souls of three powerful mages who share the same gender as herself. The initial choice for this quest was Acier Silva, a noblewoman from the Clover Kingdom and mother to Noelle. By securing Acier’s soul, Megicula could partially materialize within Vanica’s body.

In Chapter 298, it is revealed that Vanica Zogratis, an exceptionally powerful Devil Host, has formed a contract with one of the Supreme Devils, Megicula. During her battle with Noelle, Vanica’s life was gravely weakened, allowing Megicula to partially materialize from her body. Megicula needed the soul of another powerful individual, Lolopechka, the princess and ruler of the Heart Kingdom who also has a contract with the water spirit, Undine, to fully manifest within the human world. However, Noelle and her brother, Nozel, thwarted Megicula’s plan and ultimately defeated her before she could achieve full manifestation.

Megicula possesses a unique form of magic that involves the imposition of curses. This ability allows her to afflict powerful curses upon others. Not just for defense against attack spells, this power can also diminish the potency of other spells. Moreover, she can utilize her curse abilities to envelop herself in healing and recuperation magic. Furthermore, Megicula is capable of imposing secondary curses on her adversaries. In Chapter 300, for instance, Megicula transforms Lolopechka into a Devil and employs an additional curse called Exploding Life, designed to eliminate her.

In Chapter 303, Nozel reveals an unforeseen consequence of the protective spell cast on Acier Silva. The reason Megicula remained unknown was that if Nozel revealed Megicula’s involvement in Acier’s death to anyone, they would perish due to the curse. Moreover, merely hearing about this curse could be fatal, as it has a contagious nature, spreading like a deadly disease.

Megicula possessed the magical prowess derived from the souls of Vanica and Acier Silva. Vanica wielded Blood Magic, enabling her to shape her own blood. What is the Tree of Qliphoth?

The Channel That Connects the Human World to the Underworld

The Tree of Qliphoth serves as a mystical conduit linking our realm with the Underworld. Two adept mages, one employing Dark Magic and the other utilizing World Tree Magic, are tasked with establishing this connection. Specific individuals chosen for this procedure were Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance, who would act as the heart of the ritual by making sacrifices. In Chapter 246 and Episode 164, it is revealed that the Dark Triad’s ultimate aim is to activate the Tree of Qliphoth, allowing our world to be overrun by demons.

Previously, the administrator of this channel was none other than Astaroth, one of the three supreme rulers of the Underworld and a demon known as the Supreme Devil. However, he vanished without a trace until Chapter 333, when it was revealed that Lucius Zogratis had entered into a pact with him. This agreement enabled Astaroth to inhabit Lucius’ body, making him a host for devils. Following Astaroth’s disappearance, Megicula assumed control of this position.

1) The Underworld has seven distinct layers, with the devil in each level growing stronger as you move deeper. The Dark Triad intends to invoke the Qliphoth ceremony to establish a connection. Unlike opening all gates simultaneously, the gates will open gradually over time. This ritual necessitates the participation of the two sorcerers mentioned earlier and spans a period of seven days. Upon completion, these sorcerers would lose their lives. However, this ritual comes to a halt when the Dark Triad is vanquished.
