In the year 2023, the sixth series of Black Mirror was released, comprising five thought-provoking episodes. Notable among them are “Beyond the Sea,” where two astronauts found themselves stranded in space and able to transfer their consciousness into robot stand-ins to be with their spouses, and the mind-bending “Demon 79,” a story about a purported demon taking over a young, influential girl.

Viewers continue to seek clarification on certain past seasons, yet here we are with Season 7, offering fresh installments that merely intensify the confusion. Could any of these episodes potentially receive a follow-up to resolve lingering plot threads?

There will be spoilers ahead.

5. How Does Exactly Rivermind Work?

Episode One, “Common People”

The Uncommon Solution”

The episode explores the lives of ordinary people who rely on basic services. This particular tale revolves around a duo who stumble upon Rivermind, an extraordinary service capable of brain cloning and eliminating unwanted tissues or diseases such as tumors. However, there are certain conditions attached to this seemingly perfect cure.

being confined to a vegetative state or facing a more permanent end. However, base subscribers are restricted to a specific area and can’t travel freely across countries, states, or even cities. Lastly, you’ll occasionally find yourself broadcasting advertisements, much like a YouTube video playing in the background.

In simpler terms, Amanda and Mike are the only individuals known to have cloned brains, along with Gaynor from Rivermind. However, it’s unclear how common this technology is. There are many questions about the use of this technology, such as what happens when people can’t afford their subscription fees. Unfortunately, since Mike and Amanda appear to be deceased, any questions related to them no longer apply.

4. How Long Before Maria Gets Sick Of Being Queen Of The Universe?

Episode Two, “Bete Noire”

In simple terms, “Bete Noire” appears to be the most sophisticated idea presented in season seven. The character Verity constructs a gadget that links to multiple universes. By simply pressing a button, she can swiftly move to another universe with little fuss. This ability allows her to perform minor miracles, such as instantly changing colors around her or manipulating film footage to incriminate someone else. This tool provides an effective means for Verity to deceive her adversary, Maria, and the series finale echoes this theme.

Maria defeats Verity and takes charge of the machine. Instead of just safeguarding her own existence, she aspires to become the ruler of the entire universe. At some point, Verity also attempted this, but eventually grew tired of it. So, for how long will it take before Maria grows weary due to boredom? And if she does, might she harm innocent people in retaliation, as Verity did?

3. Is Redream A Hit?

Episode Three, “Hotel Reverie”

Revival of Dreams” tells the story of tech company, Redream, spearheaded by visionary Kimmy. She presents an innovative idea to revitalize classic films by blending them with contemporary stars at a dilapidated film studio. The inaugural project revolves around integrating renowned actress Brandy into a timeless movie titled “Hotel Reverie”. Despite encountering obstacles, the Redream team manages to reenact the film as a stage production and distribute it on streaming networks.

There’s uncertainty about whether the Redream project will be a big success, given that it caters to a specific niche of modern fans who appreciate black-and-white movies. However, if successful, this project could revolutionize AI-based storytelling by blending old classics with contemporary actors and technology. It’s an intriguing concept that could make for an engaging sequel in the realm of science fiction, horror, or other genres within a new _Black Mirror_ episode, given its departure from the original Hotel Reverie’s romance theme. The audience may wonder how the characters Brandy and the AI version of Dorothy will interact, particularly as their relationship develops through limited phone conversations.

2. Is The World A Utopia?

Episode Four, “Plaything”

In the 90s, a game enthusiast named Cameron was intrigued by an unusual concept for an episode: “Plaything.” This episode concluded with a catastrophic event. Cameron, a game journalist, was given the opportunity to preview a game called Thronglets. Instead of just a game, Thronglets was more like a real-life simulation. Over time, Cameron developed feelings of affection towards the creatures within this game, viewing himself as their creator and caretaker, much like a father. He upgraded their technology over the years using various consoles such as PS3 and Nintendo Switch models. In the final moments of the episode, Cameron drew a QR code and showed it to a security camera located inside a police station. This action uploaded the code into the government’s database.

This occurrence is said to bring about a singularity event, where it’s assumed that everyone on Earth falls into a state of catatonia, merging into one entity. While Cameron claims it’s for the greater good, several questions arise. Did everyone truly lose consciousness? If so, why did Cameron remain unaffected? Perhaps those not reliant on technology or wearing headphones could have been shielded. Furthermore, how does this new world function? Is it a collective consciousness, like a hive mind? Exploring the aftermath of this proposed utopia in a future season of Black Mirror would certainly make for intriguing viewing.

1. Can Nanette Free Her Friends From Her Mind?

Episode Six, “USS Callister: Into Infinity”

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating continuation of the story unfolds in “USS Callister: Into Infinity,” a sequel episode from season four. The previous installment, “USS Callister,” concluded on an uplifting note as Nanette and her team managed to break free from Robert’s digital nightmare into the genuine MMO universe. At first glance, this appears to be a victory for them, but the new episode delves into the challenges faced by these clone crew members. The loss of one comrade in this new era looms heavy, and they find themselves engaged in an arduous struggle against countless players just to survive. They must scrimp and save credits by purchasing essentials like ammo and fuel.

After multiple attempts and mishaps, the story concludes with the cloned character Nanette occupying the body of the original Nanette, seemingly picking up where she left off as if death hadn’t occurred. However, there’s a twist: her crewmates are now trapped within her mind, creating an unsettling continuation of the film “Inside Out“. Unlike their counterparts in that universe, Nanette can hear every voice inside her head. Will she manage to free them or adapt to coexist with four artificial intelligence personas living rent-free in her thoughts?
