As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the challenges presented by Black Myth: Wukong are a breath of fresh air in today’s watered-down gaming world. The fight against Wandering Wight, one of the game’s minibosses, has left me scratching my head more times than I care to remember.

Players of the game Black Myth: Wukong are finding it particularly challenging to defeat the mini-boss, Wandering Wight. The long-awaited release of Black Myth: Wukong has now arrived on PC and PlayStation 5, offering players a chance to explore one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated titles.

Game Science has created the action RPG titled Black Myth: Wukong, inspired by the Chinese epic Journey to the West. In this game, you assume control of the “Destined One,” a character strikingly similar to Sun Wukong, or the Monkey King from the original novel. Throughout your journey, you’ll engage in numerous challenging boss battles, some even spanning multiple stages. However, one particular character within Black Myth: Wukong has become a source of frustration for many players.

Players of Black Myth: Wukong are finding the Wandering Wight particularly tough to handle. Many have voiced their admiration for the challenge posed by this miniboss, with Twitter user RealMarcFoxx confessing that he’d “kicked the bucket at least 10 times” during their battle. This sentiment is echoed across Twitter and Reddit, where users describe being “completely beaten down” by him, while others share tales of multiple attempts to defeat him, taking up to “two hours” or dying “20 times”.

Wandering Wight is one of the Black Myth: Wukong Minibosses

The encounter with Wandering Wight is particularly challenging as it is in the early stages of Black Myth: Wukong. At this point, players still don’t have a very high health pool and haven’t unlocked many skills. Meanwhile, the Yaoguai Chief is fast, his stomp attack has an extended hitbox, he can punch the ground and create one or more explosions around him, and he has high health. The fight against Wandering Wight is optional, but for players who are up for the challenge, it’s necessary to go to the Wolf Forest near Outside the Forest Shrine in the first chapter to find him.

Although it went viral, Wandering Wight isn’t the only miniboss in the first chapter of the game. In addition to him, Black Myth: Wukong players will face Guangzhi, who attacks with his fire glaive. Bullguard is the gatekeeper of the mountain who carries a massive axe, which he swings when attacking players. Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang is a giant frog whose movements are based on jumping and swinging his arms. Guangmou relies more on ranged attacks such as projectiles and spinning to create a wind explosion around him.
