As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of battle scars and countless hours under my belt, I must say, the Yellow Wind Sage of Black Myth: Wukong has been one heck of a challenge! This rodent titan was my personal “wall” for what seemed like an eternity. But alas, after more than a dozen attempts, I finally managed to tame the sandstorm and claim victory.

In the second chapter of Black Myth: Wukong, the final adversary is known as the Yellow Wind Sage. This massive, enraged rodent was my initial challenge, requiring more than a dozen tries before I could figure out his various attack routines. However, now that I’ve conquered him, I’m eager to assist you in defeating him as well. Here’s a guide on how to overcome the Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth: Wukong.

Black Myth: Wukong | Yellow Wind Sage – Attacks and moveset

Similar to numerous managers in Wukong, Yellow Wind Sage possesses a wide range of techniques. Unlike most bosses, he appears prior to the point where they typically adjust to the Destined One’s skills, allowing you to employ your spells as soon as they are off cooldown without undue apprehension.

At first, he’ll launch a sequence of broad thrusts using his spear, which you can evade easily. Be cautious with your own attacks, instead focus on reading his actions, dodge, then strike back. He tends to immobilize during this stage, so take advantage by dealing some extra damage. He also has some ground-pound moves, but he’ll primarily throw wild punches at the start of the battle. Occasionally, he’ll drive his trident into the ground, causing spikes to emerge in a line before him.

Reduce his strength to approximately 75% and he’ll start spinning rapidly, generating a massive sandstorm around him. It’s crucial to leave immediately, as being within the storm can cause significant damage. Additionally, at this point, he’ll discard his protective shield, which is when he becomes particularly tricky to deal with.

Yellow Wind Sage will now turn to sand, becoming invincible, and disappear to the edge of the arena, attacking swiftly and covering distances almost instantly. You could use the Red Tides transformation here just to preserve your HP, but you won’t be able to hit him either way.

Initially, he’ll lunge towards you and burrow into the ground, creating multiple spears in a row. Then, he’ll appear and disappear intermittently, striking out at you each time. He’ll execute a massive spinning jump, followed by leaping onto you, pounding the sand beneath. Now, you have another chance to attack him, but be cautious of his powerful two-handed blows. He can slam the ground, causing spears to rise up, and drop down on you from above.

He’ll launch an aggressive assault, followed by leaping towards you with such force that his bulky frame could squash you beneath him. However, beware of the swift and elusive maneuver that follows immediately after. It’s quick and can easily go unnoticed, but he’ll leap forward and kick you away like a ball, before piercing you in mid-air and plunging you into the sand. This move inflicts massive damage and is challenging to recover from.

If you nudge him a little more, he’ll become agitated and begin to bellow loudly while stomping the ground. Suddenly, a massive worm bursts from the sand near him and charges straight towards you. To escape this wild assault, either rush towards him or skillfully dodge at the right moment. Once his health drops to approximately 20%, he’ll restore his stone-headed shield and return to his initial set of moves.

Yellow Wind Sage – General strategies

Continue advancing and observe his habits. You’ll notice most of his assaults have a consistent sequence. For instance, he often executes two mid-air spins before a shoulder charge, which is almost always followed by a football kick. Whenever feasible, employ the Immobilize ability, as it’s currently the most useful spell in this situation.

As a seasoned warrior who has honed his skills over countless battles and skirmishes, I can confidently say that patience is indeed a virtue when it comes to combat. In my years of fighting, I have learned that the key to victory often lies in biding one’s time and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. This principle holds true whether you are facing an enemy with a sword or a foe on a football field.
